Melissa went straight to the library when the bell rang for lunch. She waited outside and looked around for Ciel. She had likely convinced Branden to let her go. She couldn’t really get the other girl out of her head all class.

Ciel was walking so fast towards the library she might've well been jogging through the halls. She nearly collided with at least three people but managed to duck and weave out of the way. Ciel's heart leaped a little when she spotted Mellisa waiting outside the library. "Hey there, Melissa!" She waved at Mellisa and hurried over to her. "Are we going to the same place?"
“Yep!” She said tali n‘by heir hand and walking inside. She walked to the back again. “So how where your classes?” She asked sitting down.
"They were good. Passed a little slowly, though," Ciel sighed, though she wasn't going to admit the reason the classes felt slow was because she was looking forward to doing homework with Melissa so much. "What about you?" She sat down and leaned towards Melissa attentively.
“They where fine. Like you they moved slow,” she said. She didn’t tell her that she was also looking forward to seeing Melissa and that wasn’t able to sit through most of her classes with Branden summoning her somewhere else. She opened her back and took a lunch box out.
"I guess we've both been struck with a spell that slows down time when we least want it to," Ciel joked, opening her backpack and pulling out a small canvas bag. From that bag she took a sandwich and a boxed apple juice. " I'm just going to say, I like it here so much better than the lunch room."
Melissa nodded. “Yeah me too,” she said. She took out two wrapped pieces of banana bread and handed one too Ceil. She also had a sandwich.
"Ooh! Thank you so much!" Ciel accepted the banana bread and grinned at Melissa. "I'm gonna eat this right now." She set her sandwich aside and unwrapped the banana bread. After considering how to eat it, Ciel gave up and broke off a piece. "Here's the test!" She stuck the piece in her mouth. "Wow, Melissa, this is good!"
Melissa smiled and unwrapped hers. “Thanks. I didn’t have that much time or I would of made it better,” she said leaning near them.
"Wow, I don't know how you can make this better." Ciel took another bite of the banana bread. "Seriously, Melissa. I absolutely love it." She kept eating, though it was gone all too soon. "You are amazing." Ciel smiled at Melissa and picked up her sandwich.
Melissa smiled and finished her own bread. She blushed slightly. “Thanks,” She said not sounding fully convinced. “You’re really amazing too.” She unwrapped her sandwich.
"Of course." Ciel laughed and opened the bag her sandwich was in. "Thank you. I don't know what I did to earn such a wonderful compliment, but I'll take it." She was trying to act cool, but her pink cheeks gave her up. Being complimented by Melissa felt amazing.
Melissa smiled back. “I don’t know you just seem really cool and chill. Plus you make jewelry. That’s pretty amazing to me,” she said smiling slightly.
"Well, thank you again. Oh! Maybe, if we finish our homework early and you don't have to go anywhere, I might be able to get started on the necklace. You could help or something." Ciel shrugged, taking a bite of her sandwich. "I could teach you some tricks. They're probably bad, but…" She smirked at Melissa.
Melissa smiled. “That sounds great and your jewelry looks amazing. Maybe I can teach you to bake some day,” she said smiling. She finished up her sandwich.
"Yes, please! We have to get together again, and you can teach me all your baking secrets. Like how you made that banana bread taste so good. Hopefully, I won't incorporate a spatula into whatever we make." Ciel gave Melissa a crooked grin, then ate the rest of her sandwich and started in on a bunch of grapes. The thought of baking with Melissa made her smile, even though she was sure she'd somehow set something on fire.
Melissa laughed slightly and put her lunchbox back in her bag. She took out one of her folders. “Yeah we should. I bet you are way better at baking than you let on,” she said starting on some English work.
"Hmm, you haven't seen me try to bake." Ciel shook her head, a smile on her lips. "It's a sad sight, I assure you." She noticed Melissa starting in on some homework, which reminded her of some stuff she had to get done. Putting aside her lunch stuff, Ciel rummaged in her bag and pulled out her science notebook.
Melissa looked up. “Got homework too?” She asked smiling lightly. She crossed her legs.
"Yeah, unfortunately." Ciel glanced over at her. "I figured I'd try and get as much done as I can, besides math, and then we won't be doing homework the entire time we're together." She smiled at Melissa.
Melissa smiled. “Good idea,” she said. “By the way I can stay until like 5 the latest. Branden said he’d pick me up.”
"Okay. That's probably the latest my moms would let someone stay over anyway," Ciel said, flipping her notebook to the right page and staring at the sheet of problems. "I hate science."
(Oh shoot I’m sorry I thought I replied to is!)
Mellisa nodded. “Yeah Science is pretty hard. I like chemistry though,” she said. “What are you learning?” She glanced at the paper over her shoulder.
(Ah, you're good. I probably should have bumped this, but… I kinda forgot.)
"What are the chances?" Ciel laughed. "I've been blessed with you, Melissa. You know that, right?" She tilted the page so Melissa could see the problems better. It was a "balancing redox equations" sheet, which Ciel hated with her whole heart. "What do you think? These are the worst, right?"
Melissa nodded once again. “Yeah they are but j think I remember doing something like this,” she said before explaining it. She didn’t do a very good job at explaining but she got the point and answer across. “I think I remember it correctly might want to check with your teacher or someone else though.”
Ciel listened intently to Melissa's explanation. "Cool, thank you. I think I'll be able to finish the sheet, at least. But I'll ask the teacher tomorrow to explain it, just so I become a pro at it." She gave Melissa a thankful smile and started working intently on the next question.
Melissa nodded and smiled. She got a text and checked it. “Hey I got to go but I’ll see you in gym? I’ll meet you in the locker room,” she said grabbing her bag. There was still half of lunch left.
"Alright. See you in the locker room!" Ciel gave Melissa a little wave. She was sad to see her go, but she could spend much more time with her later. And hopefully, she would be able to get through the rest of her homework in the time that remained.
