Blood Oath (O/O CLOSED)

"Kadennnnnnn….." I whined, giving him the best puppy-dog eyes I could muster. A huge sneeze blew the adorable face apart, unfortunately, but my mouth retained its pouting shape. "Please?"

“I’m currently immune to your face,” I told Andreas, though I had swallowed thickly. “Hope, Copper, take care of him!”

And I was out before Andreas could pull me back (figuratively or literally, I cannot say).

I flopped onto my back (very melodramatically), releasing a soft whine as the door swung shut behind him. My throat hurt like the devil—and so did my dignity—but worse still was the awful headache that threatened to make my head explode. Heaving a sigh, I awaited my boyfriend's return.

After telling the cook to make soup for Andreas, I went to the healer to get some medicine. The cook said he’d send his bondmate over once the soup was done, so I went back to the dorm.

“I’m back!” I said as I entered.

I replied by releasing a loud groan, blindly flinging out an arm for him to take.

Cuddle with me? I asked with my body language, curving my torso in his direction.

I immediately responded, walking over to him and laying down next to him, tucking him under my chin.

“I have your medicine, but you can’t take it with an empty stomach,” I murmured to him, kissing him on the forehead. “So wait until Cook sends soup for you.”

"I love you…." I mumbled in reply, pressing my face up against his chest as I lowered my body temperature just enough not to burn him. "A lot…"

I ran my fingers through his hair soothingly, holding him tighter. I love you.

“I love you, too, Andreas,” I murmured. “More than you know. Now go to sleep. Rest up.”

"How can I sleep," I murmured, "When I have an opportunity to cuddle with my beloved boyfriend?"

“You can sleep while you do that,” I told him with a chuckle. “But you’re right. Don’t sleep yet. The soup might get here any second.”

“How was your day?” I asked, my voice muffled against the soft fabric of his shirt. Sleepy, I pressed a kiss against it.

“It was okay,” I replied, nuzzling his cheek. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner.”

“It’s fine,” I mumbled in response, lifting my head to trail messy, affectionate kisses along his jaw, “Anything interesting happen?”

Normally this would have gotten me extremely hot. Whenever Andreas did this, I wanted to do nothing more than pin him down, but this time, I let him kiss me.

“No, love, nothing interesting,” I answered, sighing against him.

Knowing how much I could tease my boyfriend without consequences due to the nature of my current state, I grinned drowsily, pressing another kiss to the base of his neck. “Isn’t this interesting?”

My jaw tensed, but I let him kiss me like that. I let his touches soothe me instead of being provoked.

“It is, it is,” I hummed in reply. “Are you planning on leaving a mark?”

I loved the feeling of his jaw, tensing beneath my mouth, muscles knotting up because of me. Humming sleepily, I shook my head. “Not enough energy for that…”

“Too bad,” I murmured. “I would have—“

I was interrupted by a knock on the door.

I made a soft noise of protest, burying my face in the crook of Kaden’s neck. “Can’t we just ignore it…?”

“Your food,” I reminded Andreas as I pulled myself to my feet and walked over to open the sure. Sure enough, there was the cook’s bondmate, soup in its hands. I took it from him, thanked him and went back to Andreas.

“All right,” I said the liquid on the table. “Time for you to eat.”

“Only if you feed me~” I croaked hoarsely, flashing a lopsided grin despite my current condition. What can I say? I’m a hopeless flirt.

I snorted but went over to him anyway, lifting the spoon to his mouth.

“All right, you big baby,” I said to him. “Eat.”

"I'm your baby," I corrected, trying my best to fluster him. "Not in an incest way, though." Before he could chastise me, I swallowed the spoonful, grinning like an absolute idiot.

I rolled my eyes at his silliness, but I was still amused. “All right, my baby, eat,” I touched the spoon to his mouth again.

It was nice seeing him like this, happy after what Colton had said to him. Colton. God, I still wanted to yell at him until my voice was hoarse. What he said to my boyfriend… it shook him to the core. Instead of being hopeful, instead of trusting us to find the cure, he wanted Andreas to kill him. Granted, I didn’t know for sure, but why would Andreas react otherwise?

"You look angry," I noticed, wiping my mouth on the back of my sleeve. "Why do you look angry? Did I do something wrong?"

I blinked the anger away from my face and instead pressed my mouth to his forehead.

“No, you most certainly did not,” I said to him. “I just remembered how I failed miserably at training. It gets frustrating.”

"You're lying," I whispered to him, and my smile faltered slightly. "I can tell when you're lying for my benefit, Kaden. Is this about the Prince?"

“No,” I responded, shaking my head. “It most certainly isn’t. Why would I be wasting my time thinking about him?”

My momentary happiness crumbled to dust and faded away, replaced by a hollow ache in my chest. The Prince….

"If you say so.." I said quietly, exhaling a sigh that caused my shoulders to slump.

“Hey, don’t make that face,” I pressed the spoon harder against his mouth. “You aren’t allowed to be unhappy.”
