Brainwashed (O/O) Closed

"I didn't. That's how much I love you." He hugged her and buried his face in her shoulder.

She smoothed his hair and continued to cry. "What did you do?"

"Hurt myself. You weren't there to save me. Because of them! I want them dead!" He broke down.

Kate hugged him tighter. "It's okay, I'm here now."

"So are they!" He pounded the side of the bed with his fist. Anger took control of him.

She jumped back. "Auggie, don't."

"If the police won't find them, I will!" He crossed his arms.

"Auggie don't do this. Not now. Please. You think I didn't need you too?" she asked, her voice faint.

"Aren't you mad?", he asked through clenched teeth.

"Can't you just be here now – please? We can worry about that later. I missed you so much, Auggie." Her eyes pleaded with him.

He hugged her. "Fine. I'm sorry." He really was sorry.

Kate squeezed him tightly. "I love you."

"Let's get out of here.", he told her. He was done with hospitals.

"Am I allowed to leave?" she asked, clinging to him.

"I don't care.", he said bluntly. He held her close.

"Let's go then," she murmured with a smirk, back to her old self.

"Out the window this time?", he giggled. They were only on the second floor and it would be like a spy mission.

"If we both want to get out of here alive, I don't think so," she purred.

"Aww.", he pouted. He got up anyway and made his way to the door.

Kate flipped the covers off and took small steps to follow him.

August though of it like a spy mission. He tip-toed to the door and opened it slowly. "Ssh.", he whispered to her.

She giggled quietly and cupped her hand over her mouth. Her eyes sparkled with mischief.

The door creaked open. Dr. Vegran was in the hallway and he snuck past her.

Dr. Vegran had her back to them – she was talking to a team of nurses.
Kate quietly closed the door and followed August.

He tripped over his own foot. Oh crap! He quickly got up and started running, taking Kate with him.

Kate giggled and sprinted with him. "You know I hate running!" she gasped.
Dr. Vegran turned and her eyes widened. "August?"

He ignored her and ran to the elevators. Naturally, he pushed the button.

"August!" she repeated.

Kate tripped right before the elevator and fell into his arms. She grinned up at him. "I love you."

The elevator doors opened and he pulled Kate in. "I love you too!", he said as the doors closed. That's why I'm breaking you out of here.

"Where are we going?" she asked.
