Kyle looked up at him before shaking his head, "No. I… I like you too much and…" He sighed, "You can't help who you are and if you have powers then I should be happy for you, not jealous."
Call my lifeline (one-on-one//closed)
Arthur sighed, "Even if I'm not exactly a full human either?" he asked hesitantly.
Kyle's eyebrows raised and he again shook his head, "I'm not gonna judge."
Arthur carefully watched him, "I meant that last one…" he said, carefully shifting to the form of a very, very large, reddish brown furred wolf. His amulet was also visible now, the band hanging on his left foreleg.
Kyle let out a little gasp and took a step back. Wow… There were a few shifters at the school, but none compared to Arthur, though.
Arthur watched him tensely, wondering how he'd take it.
After a moment, Kyle smiled, "C-Can I touch you?" He asked softly.
Arthur nodded, padding up to him, "I'm gonna shift back in a minute, before my paws freeze…"
Kyle giggled a little and rolled his eyes, "Stop complaining." He said, scratching behind Arthur's ear.
Arthur almost instantly melted, "don't you dare stop…" he said pressing up into his hand.
"Now who's the cute one?" Kyle smiled, "I've never seen a wolf as big as you before."
"I'm half Solaris….." sighed Arthur, really never wanting Kyle to stop doing what he was doing. "Solaris… and most other wolf species in that region, are this big…"
"I've never heard of Solaris before…" Kyle muttered, "If I'm being honest."
"I'd be surprised if you had…" said Arthur, enjoying the scratching, "I came from a pretty remote area…."
Kyle nodded a little in understanding, "Did you like living there?"
"Well…. my family's back there so yeah… of course I did…." Arthur tensed a little, hoping it wouldn't go to that topic.
Kyle noticed how tense he was and just nodded and decided to change the topic for Arthur's sake, "Now I know why your hair is so soft when you're human."
"Yeah… I told you it was genetics…" said Arthur, forcing himself to relax, pulling away before shifting. shaking his hands off and shoving them in his pockets.
Kyle nodded and wrapped his arms around himself with a small sigh, looking out across the lake again, "Yeah, you did…"
"You're.. you're ok with it, right?" asked Arthur, watching him carefully.
Kyle nodded, "Of course I am, don't worry."
Arthur smiled, "Good… I…. I didn't wanna scare you away…."
Kyle looked up at him and offered a small smile back, "You could never."
I probably could… If you could see my scars…. Arthur smiled faintly, pushing that thought deep down, back into the pit it came from. "I'm glad…" he said,
A burst of cold wind made Kyle shiver, "Arthur? Can you hug me? I'm cold…"
"I don't care," Kyle muttered, "You're wearing more then me so you'll at least be a little warmer…"
"What part of vulnerable to cold did you miss?" asked Arthur with a grin.
Kyle lifted his head slightly and stuck his tongue out at him, "Shush and just enjoy the hug."
Arthur sighed, "So… you said earlier you wanted to learn self defense?"
"You have an amazing skill of ruining moments," Kyle placed his forehead on Arthur's chest, "But yeah, I did."
