Kyle gasped dramatically, "but, but sleep is great! I'm glad you slept though."
Call my lifeline (one-on-one//closed)
"Sleep is usually anything but great for me….." said Arrhur glumly. "I get more rest staying awake than I do sleeping most of the time."
"Maybe I should stay over more often if it means you'll get a good nights rest." Kyle replied, burying his face in his chest and closing his eyes.
Arthur went red again, "This was a once in a blue moon thing Kyle…." he said softly, "I don't think you staying over is gonna make a difference later.
Kyle shrugged a little, "You don't know that until we try it out…"
"I know that for a fact…." said Arthur. "Nothing helps… and… I don't want you getting scared…"
"You had a peaceful night sleep last night, though…" He muttered, "Why would I get scared?"
"Normally whenever I fall asleep I get nightmares……. really bad ones……" said Arthur softly, "Anytime I get a good night's sleep like that…. it's a fluke…. and nothing more….."
Kyle lifted his head a little so he could see Arthur's face, a small frown in his own, "I'm sorry… how long have you had the nightmares?"
"Few years now….." said Arthur, "I'm used to it by now…."
"I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to be used to it." Kyle said quietly.
"It's a part of who I am, I can't stop it no matter how hard I try….." he said, Espcially since they aren't exactly 'nightmares', they're more like memories…..
Kyle studied him for a moment before nodding in understanding and going back to his previous position, "There's this… place, out in the forest. It's pretty relaxing and it'll look better with the snow," He said quietly, "Do you wanna come with me later today?"
"Sure… I guess…" Arthur sighed quietly, glad that Kyle had dropped the uncomfortable subject.
"It's really pretty and no one from school knows about it, either," He sighed softly, "It's like that one place I can go to to think, you know?"
"You should keep it special to you then…." said Arthur quietly, slipping an arm around the other to keep him from slipping off the couch.
Kyle shook his head and felt his cheeks heat up at the contact, "I… I want to share it with someone. And I don't mind it being you."
Arthur smiled a little, "Well… as long as I'm not intruding….." Why does he make me feel like this???
"You're not, I promise." Even though his face was against Arthur's chest, he still smiled.
Arthur smiled, hugging him a bit tighter. "Thanks….."
Kyle was quiet for a moment, just enjoying the comfortable silence before he spoke again, "You know… I've never had a real friend before, so… thank-you, for not being like the others."
"I…. I just know what it's like to be different…" said Arthur, "So much so that no one really cares about you… or it's easy to get left out"
"I'm glad someone understands." He whispered.
"Yeah…" Arthur sighed, snuggling further under the warm blankets. How do I tell him….. that I have powers too….. and…. that I'm only half human…..
Kyle was enjoying the silence until his phone buzzed. He frowned and slightly a little so he could reach it.
Arthur let him move, hearing the buzzing. "Someone call you?"
Kyle shook his head, a small frown on his lips, "J-Just a text…" Unfortunately, it wasn't the best text in the world.
"You ok?" he asked, slight concern appearing in his voice as he watched Kyle's body language.
"Hm? Y-Yeah, I'm fine." He replied quietly. He didn't know how his bullies got his phone number but the message brought up his insecurities and it hurt… a lot.
Arthur pulled him into a tight hug, "Liar…" he said quietly, "I can tell you're lying…."
