The teacher, an evil-looking crone, slapped a yardstick against her desk with a loud crack, making Rook jump.

“Oh here we go…” L grumbled under her breath. This lady seemed like an evil harpy that would give them a hell of a lot of trouble.
"I don't like her." She whispered as the lady started rollcall. The name on the board was ironically Mrs. Harp.
L actually wheezed quietly when she saw the name. She elbowed Rook, “Rookie! Her name….I can’t” she started laughing quietly.
Rook managed to squeeze out a 'maybe' when her name was called without laughing, but received a sharp glare.
L suddenly grew serious realizing this lady was definitely just gonna be a shit about her name and pronouns.
"Luna MacMorrow."
Shit she was almost dying at this point. “Here. And it’s just L, ma’am…”
"Really. And that is the name your parents gave you, young lady?"
Rook had swung her legs down and was gripping the edge of the desk so tight her knuckles went white.
She stiffened up “it’s the only thing I’ll respond to ma’am” she replied coldly.
((god i hate writing homophobes
"I suggest you watch your tone, or you will find yourself sitting in detention."
((Oof mood. That’s like when I do LGBT rights for a school project and I cry reading through all the homophobia))
She scowled at her, she hated this lady. “Sorry ma’am” she replied sarcastically.
((i wrote a speech on lgbt discrimination and the amount of times my mom came into my room wondering why i was screaming in frustration oof
Rook made to stand up, muttering about kicking ass.
((Totally Haven’t had panic attacks over all the anti-gay policies :’)
She really just wanted to let Rook beat this lady into a pulp but then again…beating up a teacher would land them in some heavy shit. “Don’t bother. She’s not worth it Rookie.”
She froze halfway out of her seat, slowly sitting back down. She met the teachers eyes and bared her teeth in a threatening smile, grabbing L's hand. "Fine."
Mrs. Harp huffed, continuing rollcall.
L kept her glare on the teacher, silently wishing Mrs. Harp had fought her more instead of dismissing her.
"You chose coming inhere instead of hanging out with me, wow." She muttered just loud enough for L to hear, trying to ease some of the tension.
“Yup I regret it too…well homophobe number one has been found…”
"Perfect. A whole half hour just us tomorrow."
“Yup.” She leaned over and squeezed Rook’s hand. “There’s no way I’m coming back to this place…”
"I really don't like her." She huffed, shooting glares every time the teacher looked their way.
“Me neither….she’s just ignoring us too. I almost wish she’d fought me longer. If she calls me young lady one more time I’m actually gonna kick her right in the face.”
"Please do. That would be so hot."
“I’m honestly considering it…”
Rook bit her lip to muffle her laughter.
L laughed quietly. She had completely ignored the teacher’s lesson this whole time.
By the time the class had ended, Rook had fallen asleep on L's shoulder, half due to boredom, half due to exhaustion.
“Rookie?” She whispered softly, lightly shaking her. “We gotta go, crazy.” She hoped Mrs. Harp wouldn’t take advantage of no one else being in the classroom right now.
"…cellular mitosis?" She asked as she sat up suddenly.
“….Rookie what are you talking about?”
