Alex shook his head again, soundless and shaking. He sniffled, tears still running down his cheeks.

Gabe fell silent, reaching up to wipe Alex's tears away.
"Okay then. I'm not gonna push you, okay? I'm right here for you."
Alex blinked his eyes open a little bit, looking at Gabe for a moment. He swallowed hard.

Gabe left his hand against Alex's cheek.
"If it's so important to you to not tell me, I'm not gonna make you."
Alex closed his eyes again, leaning into Gabe's hand a little bit. "Thank you." he whispered, voice barely audible.

Gabe smiled a little, rubbing his thumb over Alex's cheek.
"You're welcome," he said softly.
Alex leaned into Gabe's hand, shivering still. He swallowed hard.

Gabe watched Alex for a moment, then spoke softly.
"How are you feeling?" he asked gently.

Gabe kept his hand on Alex's cheek, putting the other one lightly around Alex's back. He stayed quite.
Alex shivered a little, and leaned against Gabe slightly, eyes closed.

Gabe rubbed Alex's back, trying to help him calm down without speaking.
Alex shuddered again, still curled up in a tight little ball.

Gabe held Alex a little closer to himself. He wanted to protect Alex from whatever this was, and it showed. But he wasn't sure how to help Alex, because he wouldn't tell him.
Alex shivered, leaning into Gabe and taking a shaky breath. "I-I'm s-sorry…" he whispered.

"Why are you sorry?" Gabe asked gently. He saw no reason why Alex should be sorry.
Alex shrugged a little bit. "B-because I-I'm taking up a-all of your t-t-time, a-and…" he sniffled softly, rubbing at his eyes.

"Alex, you don't have to be sorry for this," Gabe said. "I chose to deal with it, and I'm okay with this."
He shook his head a little bit, quivering and crying again. But you don't know what i can do, what I might do to you and I don't want to be the reason you get hurt…

(haha, speaking of that, I had a horribly diabolical idea for this rp last night. Wanna hear?)
Gabe gently wiped Alex's tears away, keeping both arms around him.
"It's okay, Alex."

"I-it's not." Alex insisted miserably, sniffling softly and still crying.

(Basically, Gabe refuses to actually develop a romantic relationship with Alex for a while, but they become close friends. Then someone messes with Alex to the point where he basically snaps and tries to kill them, but Gabe steps between Alex and the person to protect Alex and Alex accidentally ends up killing Gabe. Gabe sticks around as a ghost, but sees how much it messes with Alex so he disappears for a bit. Later on, Alex sees Gabe telling off another ghost and making sure that none come near him, and Gabe basically lets go of his religion because this isn't the Christian afterlife/sees it as his job to be Alex's 'guardian angel,' and he finally lets them get romantical and whatnot. So basically Ghost Gabe helps Alex out even tho he's ded also ghost cuddles)

Gabe gave a small, bittersweet smile as he continued to wipe Alex's tears away.
(wow…that would be… actually that would be really interesting!! So as a ghost, Gabe would mostly feel like he was there, like physically, but…like he can do the ghosty things (walk through walls, fly, etc) lmao. But it would definitely be sad and heartwrenching and fun! yes ghost cuddles)
Alex shivered, breaths catching in ragged little sobs.

"Well, then I'll do everything I can to keep anything from happening. While you live with me, I'm gonna protect you." Gabe didn't like seeing anyone this upset.
(uhm. Well he almost killed Henry's three year old son after Henry was a homophobic asshole (Henry is the boyfriend whose father sent Alex away in the first place), so probably something along those lines, and/or involving Henry lmao)
(Uhm…maybe wait a while so that Alex and Gabe know each other a bit better first?)
Alex swallowed. "I-I…" He trailed off, nodding a little bit. "Okay."
