(Lol. Yeah, I know. I let you win it.)

Amber pulled up to the grocery store and got out of her car. She made her way up to the front entrance, then stood as she waited for William. She may as well finish writing the list she had started while she was waiting…

(Jerk. XD)

Willian parked his car, killing the engine and stepping outside. He caught side of his troublesome dorm-mate and walked over to her.

“Are you just going to stand here all day?”

(Hey, I thought I was being polite! XD)

"I was waiting for you, thanks," Amber huffed, sticking her phone in her pocket as she glared up at him. "Let's go. Produce first."

William stuffed his hands in his pockets, eyes trailing towards shelves. Occasionally, he’d find what he wanted, put it in the cart, but so far he hadn’t bought much.

He hadn’t done much grocery shopping before. After all, he only survived on either takeouts or noodles.

“How much more things are you going to buy?” William asked in annoyance.

"As much as we need," Amber answered as she inspected a tomato before setting it in the cart. "I was thinking of making spaghetti tonight, so I at least need to get everything for that."

"Give me the list," he sighed, tired of being here already. How many things did that girl even need? He took out his phone, deciding to take a picture of the list so he could get other things quickly.

Amber handed the list over, then glanced around at the rest of the produce. Maybe they should get some apples or bananas… Having fruit around would be a good idea. Vegetables, too. Like some carrots and potatoes. She could make a roast one day. If she had packed her crockpot…

William took a picture before handing the list back to Amber, walking over to the aisles that he needed to get things from.

Sighing heavily, William hoped he could get through this semester without blowing up.

After about half an hour or so, Amber had finished getting what she needed from the list, as well as a few small snacks. She looked around for William, then silently cursed herself for not getting his number or making up a plan to meet somewhere before he walked away.

William was done with everything when he realized he had no idea where to meet Amber. Cursing in irritation, he walked to where he first separated but didn’t find her.

Hoping she had some sense, he made his way to the cashier and leaned against a wall, eyes open for familiar hair.

Amber had already been making her way to the cashier when she spotted William doing the same thing. She didn’t hurry to catch up with him, though she did turn so that she was making her way toward his instead of a different aisle.

“You got everything?” she asked as she stepped up to him.

William watched her approach quietly before he pulled himself off of the wall.

“You got everything?” She asked the second she reached him. William raised the basket in his arm.

“See if that’s what you want,” he muttered. “I don’t know what companies you prefer.”

Amber glanced in the basket and turned things over to check the brands. Not all of them were what she would usually buy, they they were probably just as good as the others.

“That’s fine. Let’s go pay, now. You have cash, right?” she asked as she walked toward a cash register.

“Yeah,” William replied indifferently, walking alongside her, the basket in his hand. He walked slowly, catching up to her just as she started putting things on the register (I forgot what that thing is called lmao). He set the basket in the cart, stuffing his hands in his pockets, waiting for her to be done.

(Do you want to skip to when they get back?)

(Do you want to skip to when they get back?)

(Yes, but I’m not it~)

(I let you win again. Lol. 😉)

Amber stepped into the dorm with half of the grocery bags on her arms. She’d made William take the other half, just to be fair.

After making her way inside, she set he bags down on the kitchen counter and opened the fridge to begin putting things away.

(Of course you did. XD)

William set the bags on the floor, picking up things that needed to be refrigerated on the side. He grabbed the breads, opened the cabinet near the fridge to put it away. Why was he doing this, he didn’t know. He just didn’t want the girl getting on his nerves again.

“Thanks,” Amber mumbled as she was handed other refrigerated items. When they finished putting everything away, she glanced around and nodded slowly before turning to William. “I think that’s everything. Thanks for helping.”

William just nodded, collecting the bags and storing them away in an empty cabinet.

“Emergency use,” he muttered as an explanation. He liked keeping those bags, mostly because he ended up using them a lot.

Amber blinked and nodded slowly. “I actually do that, too. They’re good for bathroom garbage bins,” she mused.

William quirked an eyebrow.

“Or room bins,” he added. “Either works. I more often use them to—“ he scowled, shaking his head. What was he even doing?

Amber furrowed her eyebrows at him curiously. “For…?” she prompted him to finish.

“Room bins,” Willian finally completed his sentence, standing up and shaking his head again. “I guess.”

“Oh… Okay, yeah. Makes sense,” Amber said with a slow nod. “Um. Anyway, I’m going to go start getting ready for my classes for next week, so I’ll be in my room if you need me.”

William simply nodded.

“I’m going out,” he informed curtly, already walking towards the ball he had set neatly on the side. He was supposed to be meeting with his basketball team today for a proper introduction, and though he wasn’t looking forward to it, teamwork was essential.
