By the time their hour was over, William’s arms were tired. Though he’d been playing the violin for a long time, it didn’t mean he didn’t get tired after playing it.

“That last one was good,” he murmured, putting his instrument back in its case. “Your voice is good. It fits well with the song we’ve chosen.”

"Oh… Thanks," Amber said as she closed the piano cover gently. "You play really well, too. I think he violin and piano sound amazing together."

William nodded, picking up the case once he had put his instrument inside.

“Let’s go, then,” he muttered.

(Did they come in separate cars?)

(Probably…
Do we want to skip to one of the scenes we planned? Not the big ones, obviously, but maybe a small one?)

William shut the door to their dorm, exhausted beyond words. He could barely keep his eyes open—today had been a practice match and they had to fight three rounds. William had never been so tired before.

All he wanted to do was crawl into his bed and fall asleep, by he couldn’t. He needed to wash up first—get the sweat-soaked body of his washed. He quickly grabbed his clothes and walked outside to the bathroom and set his hand in the doorknob, too tired to hear the sounds of running water.

Amber had jumped in the shower after her classes were over, glad to finally have some alone time. For the past week or so, she’d been incredibly busy and had hardly had the time to take some time for herself. She’d had the song she and William were practicing stuck in her head the whole time, and now she was singing it in the shower.

So, when the door opened to the bathroom, she didn’t hear it. She just hear herself singing and the water running.

The second William opened the door, he heard the running water. William blinked, looking forward and felt the blood drain from his face.

Amber. Very naked Amber in the shower, eyes closed, mouth moving to let a song out. For a second, William couldn’t do anything but contemplate his life choices and his bad luck. His cheeks began to flame, and before anyone could even blink, he pulled out and slammed the door shut.

Shit.

Now that she heard!

Amber’s eyes shot open, her mouth clamping shut as she looked over at the door. What the heck was that? Did— Did William just walk in on her…?

As soon as she was finished showing, she climbed out of the shower and dried herself off. She moved as quickly as she could, getting dressed but ignoring her wet hair.

“William Jones!” she shouted, setting out of the bathroom and making her way to his room. She pounded on the door, gripping the towel in her other hand. “William Jones, did you just walk in on me while I was showering?”

What the hell did he just do? Was he that stupid to not hear he running water? What in the world?

Then fists against his door interrupted his thoughts, and William pulled the door open, the red on his cheeks masked by the annoyed look on his features. Her fist came down to pound on the door again and he took it in his hold, letting a growl escape his lips.

“What the hell are you doing?” He narrowed his eyes. “Stop being so goddamn loud. If you’re worried about me seeing shit, I didn’t. And the next time you decide to shower, lock the damn door.”

Amber glared at him and tore her hand from his hold. He was mad at her? He was the one who walked in on her!

Excuse me? You weren’t even home!” she argued, her face burning red. “You should have knocked, anyway! The bathroom door was closed. Why wouldn’t you knock?”

“Your roommate is a freaking guy!” William exclaimed, exasperated. “You should have locked it either way. The bathroom door is always closed. And I didn’t even know you were in there!”

Seriously? She was mad at him for her mistake? What kind of an idiotic female kept her door unlocked while her dormmate was a guy?!

group
@Imperfect_Autumn group

“And yours is a girl!” Amber shot back. “Knock! Fricking knock before you open a closed door! That’s just simple manners! And how did you not know I was in there? The water was running. Are you deaf?”

“Because I was freaking tired, all right?!” William blew up. It was a stupid reason to be angry, but it wasn’t like he could tell his issues to shut up. “All I wanted was to get out of my damn sweaty clothes, take a goddamn shower, and sleep! How the hell was I supposed to know you would be too stupid to lock the door behind you?”

William lost control of his actions and what he was saying, but once he did, he realized he had her pressed against the wall, her arms held tightly in his hands.

Amber’s breaths caught as they came in. This was not okay. He was much to close to her. The tight grip of his hands on her arms hurt

“Let go of me,” she demanded lowly, her voice shaking as she spoke.

His eyes widened and he immediately pulled back, cursing under his breath

“Damn it,” he ran a hand through his hair in distress. He lost control. Over what? A silly thing like this? “It wasn’t on purpose. Barging in on you while you were showering. I really didn’t know.”

Amber wrapped her arms around her waist and moved away from the wall. “Whatever… It’s fine. I’m just… going to go to my room now. Shower’s open. Have at it,” she mumbled.

William watched her leave with a growl. He blew up again. God damn it, after three days of not getting angry, he blew up like that. Over something as stupid as her getting angry over him barging in while she was showering.

He was just an idiot.

Amber stared down at her shaking hands as she sat down in her bed. She pulled her legs up to her chest, reaching her right hand out in front of her. Clenching it into a fist, she willed her hand to stop shaking.

Why was she acting like this? She’d said it was fine, and it was… So why were her hands shaking?

William couldn't relax in the shower as he originally thought he would. He didn't know why he was being this way. He knew his temper. He knew what he could do, and once it was done, he didn't care. But he'd frightened her. It wasn't even her fault–he purposefully, harshly, physically hurt her. Though he usually didn't care, he knew it was wrong. He hadn't done the right thing, but he couldn't bring himself to apologize. He couldn't. It would be like admitting he had a problem, and he didn't want to admit that. He didn't want to bring out the fact that he had anger management issues.

This is why he preferred to live alone. No one gets on his nerves, no one gets hurt, he wouldn't be sent to therapy again.

Amber brought her hand back to her chest and held it there tightly. Taking her blanket, she buried herself in her covers, gripping her other pillow.

Whatever had just happened, she hadn’t been expecting it. Maybe she should have, but why would she?

When William came back into his room, he discarded his dirty clothes and fell back on the bed, sighing before reaching out for his violin. Shifting into a comfortable position, he began to play a soft tune, filling his room with the melody.

Amber glanced over in the direction of William’s room when she heard the violin start. Was that why he played? To calm himself? Whatever the reason was, she hoped he would continue. She was tired after that encounter, and the music was soothing…

William pushed in the disk in the DVD player, sitting down on the couch as he grabbed the remote. The basketball team finally got a video of their opponent’s matches, and William had been meaning to watch it. He hated to lose, and it would be to his advantage if he watched their plays before to deduce who to attack and who to watch out for.

He leaned against the couch and played the video, eyes on each and every player.

Amber walked into the dorm and set her backpack on the floor beside the door. She leaned against the door, slid down it, and closed her eyes for a moment before pulling her flats off. The shoes were new, so she had yet to break them in and they were giving her blisters. Now, she just wanted to eat a pint of ice cream and binge-watch The Flash or Agent Carter or something…

“What are you watching?” she asked tiredly from the kitchen, where she had moved to after pulling her shoes off. She grabbed a pint of caramel ice cream and stuck a spoon in it before making her way over to the living room area.

William sighed, eyes closing. Fantastic. She was back. Couldn’t she have stayed out, hanging with friends?

“A match,” he answered, eyes opening just as the shooting guard snatched the ball within a blink of an eye. He blinked. Did he see that properly? He didn’t even notice the shooting guard, and he was watching a tape! The point guard needed to be kept an eye on. He continued to focus on the match, taking in mental notes. The defense players were strong as well, but William expected it. This team was not called a powerhouse for no reason.

“Oh. Sounds… boring,” Amber murmured, sitting down in a chair. She took a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth before reaching for the remote. “Can I change it? Please?”

“No,” William answered simply, grabbing the remote and crossing his arms. He raised an eyebrow. The match had just started, and the team was at a set point. Their opponent hadn’t even scored more than ten points. And to make matters worse, William could clearly tell they weren’t even taking this seriously. In the next match, he was sure they wouldn’t even let their opponent score even once.
