Farah shook her head. "Please. I can't bear to think it. She is dead until she's not, if she's not. Alright?"

Qûs'ÿltn nods. I understand.

He stays silent for a moment, then chuckles. I'm getting bored with being dead. Let's go.

Farah shook her head and laughed quietly. "Oh, please. You're the most chaotic ghost."

Qûs'ÿltn grins. I'm serious.

He turns and waves at the others, who shake their heads and laugh, then walks right of the Underworld. So where are we going?

Farah watched him and her mouth fell open. "You could've left? this entire time? And you never came to find me and let me know you're okay? Gods…"

Qûs'ÿltn shrugs. I didn't think, or know, I could. But now's as good a time as any to see.

Farah rolled her eyes and followed him. "If something happens to you, it's your fault not mine," she muttered, leaving the way she'd entered.

Qûs'ÿltn laughs. Whatever.

He gets outside, and grins. Been a bit since I've seen the sun.

He looks slyly at Farah. Seems like I am allowed to leave after all. The Underworld apparantly knows not to stop me.

He stretches languidly, then laughs.

"No one knows how to stop you," Farah shot back, smirking at his behavior. "You've never tried to leave before? I find that surprising."

Qûs'ÿltn shrugs and smirks over at Farah. That is true. They haven't built a prison anywhere that can hold me. And they've tried.

He shrugs. Never had much thought to try. I didn't think you'd come visit me, anyways.

Farah rolled her eyes. "Please. Have you ever met me before?" she asked, loosening up a bit at their rekindled friendship.

Laughing, Qûs'ÿltn responds with Yes, I have. And I must say, sometimes you can be very difficult.

Farah scoffed. "I am not… difficult!" She frowned, pursing her lips playfully, and crossed her arms over her chest. "You take that back right now!"

You sure? Qûs'ÿltn snickers.

Because last time I checked, you were being very difficult in regards to my name.

"What in Solaria do you mean?" she demanded. "I am not difficult!"

Remember when we first met? You insisted that I call you your name while not even using mine. Qûs'ÿltn retorts.

"That's not true," Farah argued back. "I used your name! Gods, when we first met…" She shook her head at the memories. "You're just as insufferable now as you were then."

Qûs'ÿltn shrugs. I called you Faerie Girl a lot, or some other such name. You had nothing nearly as funny, so you just didn't use names at all.

He snorts in mock outrage. I am not insufferable, woman!

group
@emilyevewrites group

"Well… that doesn't matter now," Farah countered. "And you are insufferable! I don't know why I wanted to even find you again." She smirked and arched her eyebrows. "Want to go back?"

Qûs'ÿltn chuckles. See what I was saying? Difficult.

He rolls his eyes. Because you actually like me?

He pauses. I dunno. Let's go terrorize Saul. Pretend like you couldn't find me or something. I'll start tossing things at him.

"I am not– Oh, forget it," Farah muttered, shaking her head. She didn't address his second point, but she laughed at the third. "No, he'll just think it's me using my magic."

Sighing, Qûs'ÿltn chuckles drily. Your magic has a different sort of feeling to it. It feels more like. . . a strong autumn wind. While mine feels more like a playful, humid late spring wind. He won't think that you're tossing shit at him..

group
@emilyevewrites group

"It may feel that way to you because you're a demigod and a fae. I can tell the difference, being fae as well, but Saul is a human. He won't be able to–" Farah stopped herself as the words processed in her mind and she shot Qûs'ÿltn an amused smirk. "A strong autumn wind?"

Qûs'ÿltn snickers. You're right, he isn't smart enough to figure it out.

He starts cracking up. You heard me! Yes, a strong autumn wind! Sometimes cold, sometimes hot, always moving in one direction: forward. My magic is based more on the elements of electricity, wind, water and cold.

Farah arched an eyebrow. "Are you insulting my fiancé's intelligence?" she asked challengingly. "I'll show you what 'strong autumn wind' magic can do."

Qûs'ÿltn laughs. How does that come as a surprise?

He tilts his head. Do.

"Saul is not stupid," Farah defended him stubbornly. "He's only a human, and you can't look down on him because of that." She smiled, and her eyes changed their color. A dangerously powerful wall of wind formed around her as she accessed air magic like Qûs'ÿltn had.

Qûs'ÿltn snorts. Okay. If you really insist. But I still say he's an idiot. And it's not because he's a human.

He smiles, and a containing wall of ice forms in the place of the wind as he takes over the magic easily. You do realize that the only reason why you were able to do anything to me when we first met was because I allowed you to, right?

group
@emilyevewrites group

Farah rolled her eyes a bit. "Please. Maybe that was a part of it, but you forget that up until that point, it had been nearly sixteen years before I used my magic consistently like that. I'm much stronger now. But do tell me…" her eyes glowed briefly as she used fire magic to melt Qûs'ÿltn's ice, "why are you calling my fiancé an idiot?"

Smirking, Qûs'ÿltn turns the fire into lightning and sends it racing back towards Farah, the magic roaring like thunder as it moves.

Yeah, yeah, whatever. But I'm a full-fledged demigod, and I'm dead, and I'm a faerie. I have three seperate things making me a lot stronger than I should ever have been. Magic is ridiculous already, but honestly, it's gotten to the point where it's stupid. he replies. He snaps his fingers, and bonds of pure Stygian Essence wrap around Farah, pinning her in place.

Because Saul, for all his flaws, couldn't even register such a huge ammount of mana concentrated in the area round and in your house. He didn't sense your presence in the forest. At least, not as well as he should have. I also wonder how it took 16 years for him to find you. It should only have taken him a few months, if he knows you so well. he says.
