“There’s nothing you could’ve done Landyn…”

"That's a lie." He said loudly then covered his mouth. "Sorry for yelling…"

“It’s okay. And I’m not lying…anything you’d done probably would’ve just made the situation worse…”

"I'd rather get hurt then let you. Also, you still need to explain."

He sighed “well…when I got to my apartment he was just there waiting for me. His name’s Nate and we dated ever since we were in high school, we broke up about two years ago. He was pretty abusive to me and he’s most of the reason I’m so stressed out by physical contact…”

"Which is why you flinched when I hugged you."

“Yeah…it’s just kind of my body’s natural panic reaction.”

"Like me and talking in general…"

“Yup” he laughed quietly.

"I still hate talking…I'd rather go mute."

“That makes sense…but hey at least we have each other now”

"If we even have each other…" he said sadly. "Look I like you…A lot… but I don't think staying friends is something I can deal with…I feel like my feelings won't matter…" Landyn looked at him. " And when I say like I mean …" He looked like he was having a hard time saying the words.

He had to admit he didn’t really understand. “I don’t understand what you’re trying to say…”

"I'm saying I love you…" he said looking at him. "B-But…I know you can't feel the same way…Not after everything that happened to you…" he said closing his eyes and hugged himself tightly.

“I-I…my feelings are complicated Landyn…all I know is I want to be near you all the time…I don’t know if that’s love but it’s the closest thing I’ve ever had to it…and…I want, no I need to move on from Nate…so….”

He looked at him. "W-What are you saying…?"

“What I’m saying Landyn…I-is I might be in love with you…”

"R-Really?"

He nodded “I think so…”

Landyn started to tear up. "Please don't be messing with me…"

“Why on Earth would I be messing with you?! That’s like the meanest thing anyone could do…I’m being serious.”

Landyn fell to the ground crying tears of happiness.

Alex smiled softly…Landyn was honestly pretty cute.

"I-I…" he tried to say I'm happy but failed.

“I know” his smile grew wider “I know Landyn”

He wiped his face trying to calm down.

“We’re gonna be okay Landyn. We’ll figure this out, I promise”

He nods and tries to get up but failed. he nervously laughs. "I-I'm a mess…"
