Mika sat down as well. "I'll just have a sidecar," he said, smiling politely before looking to M, waiting for him to order a drink.

M was quietly looking at the bar choices as the bartender turned to him. “What do you want, chap?”
“Hm… I think I’ll just have wine.”

"So," Mika said, turning to M. "How has your day been? You seemed a bit stressed when I first ran into you, though that may have been my fault."

The bartender slipped them their drinks and M accepted it with a thank you. He didn’t respond right away, just drained his glass.
“My day has been busy. My entire week has been busy.”

(pops lips)

Mika took a sip of his drink. "Yeah, I get that. It's been the same with me. Although I imagine your job is quite a bit more draining than mine is."

M gently ran a finger around the rim of the cup, holding his face in a hand. From thr profile, he looked exhausted.
“It is, I suppose. What do you do?”

(Jensen's creativity is still mostly absent, it's just been prompted by music lmao)

"I own a coffee shop. And today, the regular barista decided not to show up, so I had to cover for her," he said, gesturing to his green apron. It was littered in coffee stains, and it wasn't very flattering.

M moved his finger away when the bartender bobbed over to refill his glass. M thanked him softly, before taking a sip.
“Sounds busy. I can only imagine.”

He shrugged. "It's really just the morning rush that's the most stressful, then the rest of the day is fine." He took a moment to drain his glass before continuing. "But we were so low on supplies this morning, I couldn't make over half the things people ordered. A few people got pretty upset over that."

M glanced at Mika with a soft sigh. “I assume you’ll be picking more stuff up soon, right? You do not want to lose more business.”

"I actually have things delivered to the cafe. Everything was supposed to be here last night, but it didn't come until after morning rush today." He sighed and smiled, looking over at M. "That's okay though, I'll just have to take some precautions to make sure it doesn't happen again."

M’s sharp gaze flitted away again. He hated eye contact with new people.
“Good. It is good to be prepared,” He softly praised, sipping his wine.

"Yeah…" he said, looking away. But some things, you can't prepare for. Things that no one can brace themselves for. He ran a hand through his long hair and ordered a couple shots of whiskey.

M glanced at the other again, furrowing his brow slightly. It was odd to feel such a shift in emotion from the other, who seemed so bright and entergetic. He sat up slowly, finishing his glass and looking down at his long, pale fingers awkwardly. He had no idea what to say.

Mika sighed again, his smile returning, though it seemed slightly forced this time. "Sorry about that, this is supposed to be lighthearted and fun. Talking about work isn't exactly a fun thing to talk about." He reached back to tie his hair into a loose ponytail. He took a shot, trying to think of something to talk about. After a moment, he remembered that his dragon tattoo had finally been finished today, and his face lit up. "Do you have any tattoos?" He asked, resting his chin on his hand and looking over at him.

M kept his gaze steady on the other this time, his eyebrows raising slightly.
“Mm. I do. I assume you do, since you brought it up?” He asked softly, grinning in the slightest.

(I know I know, I didn't mean to turn it to angst it just naturally happens unless I go out of my way to avoid it lol

"Yes, I do. I finally got mine finished this week. It took months to finish." He took his second shot. "What kind of tattoos do you have?"

M rubbed his neck with a thumb idly. “I have a tattoo on my neck and it ends in the base of my collarbone. I think it was a mistake, but it was very well done. It covers up scars, too.”

Mika's brow furrowed. He looked down at M's neck, seeing parts of the tattoo peeking out over the collar of his shirt. "Why would it be a mistake? If you don't mind me asking." He was also curious about the scars, but he figured that would be prying too much.

There was only a faint splotch of red and blue visible beyond the two buttons.
“I’d have to take off my shirt in order for you to see it,” M said softly, grinning slightly. “It’s a mistake that… eh… it’s not very masculine.”

"Pfft, who cares about whether or not a tattoo is masculine?" he asked, smiling. "And I'd have to take off my shirt as well. It covers the whole right side of my back and some of my ribs. Unfortunately, I don't think the bartender would be very happy if stripped right here."

M shifted on the stool. “You have a tattoo of a dragon on your back.” His eyes flicked to the bartender, who wasn’t even paying attention, back to his companion.
“That’s cool. I’d like to see it if we ever get the chance.” He thrummed his fingers on the bar counter. He wanted to get home and eat something. Make sure it didn't burn down. Maybe get some sleep.
