Victor was asleep once more, but the creature was very awake, and very alert. "Yes, Captain?" he asked politely, looking up at him from his corner. Even sitting down, the creature was eye-level with Robert, and it was an intimidating look. But the creature didn't care for intimidation anymore, not after they had destroyed their chances of ever being accepted, ever truly loved. He knew Robert hated him, after they had exchanged words before. But the creature was too tired for rage and pain, instead choosing numbness above all else.

"Is there something you needed? Are we prepared to leave for London?" he asked, shooting the sleeping Victor an anxious look. The man was snoring softly, but stirred awake at the voices.

"Robert!" he seemed… almost happy to see him again. And Victor was, he craved the connection the man gave him, the chance at normal he felt when he was around the Captain. The creature had become his normal, certainly, but at least now he had a chance at relating to his fellow man a little more regularly.

(Victor: what is a social cue again?)

(Tbh I can't write non-mentally-ill characters. I can't. They are all going to have SOME of my EXACT ISSUES and that is a THREAT.)

(Actually, I plan to write Margaret (Walton's sister) as ace! I know a lot of ace jokes by proximity of being aro so… yeah, I may not find a moment to make it explicit but I'll try!)

(Like, Walton will just hand her a novel's worth of letter and be like "this will explain everything" and then Margaret reads it and is like "…?")

(Honestly I just think Margaret has potential to be, like, Pretty Cool also she is a SWORD LESBIAN now and part of her backstory will be gently threatening a local Priest with a rapier until he let her get married I think.)

(Good, if you didn't I'd have to steal your kneecaps. Honestly I just turn all my queer characters into my own queer power fantasies just because. Also Margaret now has a daughter, she's trans her name is Esmerelda but everyone calls her Esme and she's an absolute bABY like, she's just, smol…)

(I know! It's like, grown-up and also cute at the same time and kinda suits her character. You'll see what I mean, she's kinda serious but in a little kid way.)

(Honestly Margaret just,,, cheated the system in every way and frankly she's a badass wife, mother, sister, and swordwoman. I love her and I'm getting a bit overly attached to her now.)
