"It's not gonna scare you, Sebastian." If it scared him, he was either a wimp or…well, a wimp. There was virtually nothing to be scared of in Jami's surprise.
Gone // One-On-One // CLOSED
He nodded and glanced at the twins, knowing they were getting close to the ice cream, "Only a few more blocks," He said, his gaze flicking up to make sure he knew they were close.
"As much as I love getting out of the house, I hate doing physical exercise. It's different when I'm working, since I either save their lives or let them die."
"We should go on more walks then, maybe you wouldn't hate physical exercise as much then," He suggested, rounding the corner and smiling at the now in view ice cream shop.
Jami rolled her eyes before allowing them to scan the shop for the person she was meeting. Either they were inside or she was early.
He led them into the shop and looked around, finding an empty table for them to sit at while.
She looked around and spotted the person she was meeting. "Connor!" She cried happily as she wrapped him in a hug.
"Hey, James!" He replied, returning the hug.
Sebastian smiled lightly as he glanced at Fia and Peter, glancing up as Jami called to someone.
"Connor, I'd like you to meet my husband, Sebastian," She said, dragging Connor over. "Sebastian, this is my old friend Connor."
"Nice to meet you, Sebastian. I've heard a lot about you."
"And these two are Peter and Fiona."
“Nice to meet you as well, Conner.” Sebastian said, nodding his head in greeting before glancing at the twins with a smile.
"James has told me a lot about you," Connor said politely, sensing Sebastian's mild hostility and not wanting to intrude. "So…I'm assuming James has told you about why I'm here?"
He shook his head, "She hasn't told me why you're here, I'm clueless." He pasted a small smile on his face to try to seem a little less untrusting, hoping it worked.
"I wanted it to be a surprise!" Jami defended. Connor rolled his eyes and chuckled a little.
"If you have a seat, I'll explain," He said, pulling out a chair at a table and sitting down.
Sebastian sat down across from Connor, pulling the pram next to him as he waited to figure out what he wanted.
"So, as you know, Jami is a lover of music. Her singing voice is excellent and she has a keen eye for music. I just so happen to be the leading music producer at Ansel Records, and although my dad being the owner of the company propelling me to where I am, I'm only in this position because I worked hard for it."
He nodded, “I don’t want to sound rude here, but, what does this have to do with this?” He asked.
"Right, sorry. I ran into James a few weeks ago and we had a bit of a chat," He continued, using his age old nickname for Jami. "She's been given the opportunity to record a single here at Ansel Records."
A small smile appeared on his face and he looked up to Jami, "Really? Why didn't you tell me sooner? That was the surprise you were telling me about?"
"It's only just been confirmed," She smiled slightly. "But yeah, this is the surprise. Connor's amazing and the fact that he was willing to get me this made me want you to meet him."
"Wow…" The smile grew slightly and he looked back to Connor with a nod, "Alright then, that was great to hear!"
"So we'll be starting tomorrow," Connor said. "I know it's sudden, especially since you've just been told, but I have a meeting in which I have to convince my dad and his coworkers that Jami should get a single."
“Is she going to be gone all day? What are the times?” He asked, the thought of taking care of the twins coming to mind.
"It will be most of the day," He replied. "For the next week or so, she'll be gone essentially all day. I know that you two have twins but this is a big opportunity. And you'll have to get used to it if James' single hits big."
Sebastian nodded and glanced at Jami, "Does that mean you're trusting me with them?"
"I would trust you with them even if I wasn't doing this," Jami said. "You're their father. I'd be wrong not to."
“I mean, taking care of them all day? I know you trust me with them, but what if something goes wrong?” He asked.
"I trust you Seb," She replied. "I know that you doubt yourself, but you shouldn't. You're an amazing dad, and I know you'll know what to do when the time comes."
He smiled and nodded, "Alright then, you go work your singing magic and have fun. Now, can we get some ice cream? I'm hungry."
"I'll get a triple chocolate in a cup," Jami said to Sebastian as she got out a cloth. She grabbed the now crying Peter and started to nurse him, covering his head with the cloth.
He nodded, "Anything for you Connor?" He asked, standing up and pulling out his wallet so he could go get ice cream.
