Jake came out of his room, in his new robes and dress pants with his glasses. "Where did everyone go? maybe i can try to contact Mal…" mal you there? idk if this is even working, gods i hope it is
She smiled and nodded. He brow furrowed though- she heard something. Something that sounded like her name. She shut her eyes and scanned through dozens of thoughts, finally reaching the one she thought she had heard. 'Jake?'

Jake was reading a book, but the cover was faded and looked burned, trying to hide his blushing face.
"OK!" She chirped with a smiled sitting down in front of Jake.

Jake looked over his book and saw Mal, trying to act cool he kept reading and practiced a new spell " trimo ducious.." and popped a puppy.
She jumped a bit at this and smiled. "Oh my- where'd that come from?"

He looked in his book then mentally said This book was my Great grandpa's and he wrote every single spell in here, after he had my mom he passed it on to me..and it's just genetics that only Mathiesen's can read this book see? he showed her what looked to be empty pages.
"Hey I gonna go supervise the field mission, so I'll see you two later." Tempest said and vanished on the spot, leaving behind a half eaten meal.
Mallory watched him disappear and turned back to Jake. "Really?"
