"Is this okay?" he asked carefully, continuing to hold her. "I don't want to hurt you…"

“No… No, it’s fine,” Devon breathed, finally slipping her own arms around him and hugging him back. “It’s… It’s nice…”
Sebastian's widened slightly when he felt her arms wrap around him. "I'm—I'm glad."
After a few moments, Devon finally pulled away. She wiped her eyes quickly to rid them of remaining tears before smiling up at Sebastian a little.
“Thank you for just being here for me,” she said softly.
"I always will," he answered quietly, a faint smile gracing his lips.
(Should we skip?)
(sure
not it
to when?)
(Hmmmmmmmmmm… The thing with his parents?)
(with the bank account?)
(Yeah. Maybe they're on a date, and he goes to pay or gets a notification on his phone or something?)
Yeah sure)
(Cool! I’ll start in a bit… Maybe a few hours. Lol.)
Lol)
Devon sat down in the booth of the small restaurant. It was nice inside, much warmer than the icy chill that was currently going on outside. She smiled up at Sebastian as he took his seat across from her.
“Thank you for taking me here. It’s really nice,” she said softly.
"No problem," Sebastian answered warmly, brushing a few stray locks of bronze hair from his forehead. He picked up a menu and opened it to the first page, glancing back up at Devon. "What are you thinking of having?"
“Oh… Well, maybe just a cheeseburger and fries… You know, simple,” Devon said with a small shrug as she glanced at the menu. “Unless you’d suggest otherwise?”
"The cheeseburger is good," Sebastian said in response, looking the menu over again. "But it's enormous, and so is the helping of fries. Want to share?"
Devon hummed, blushing a little as she glanced over the drinks portion of the menu. “Um… Sure. Sure, that sounds fine. Is the lemonade any good?”
“Uhh…” It took him a moment to locate the option. “I’ve never tried it. Probably. I might just have a Club Soda.”
“Okay. Looks like we’re ready, then,” Devon said, finally glancing up at him, a small smile on her face.
As if on cue, a waiter came over to their table. Sebastian relayed their order to him, leaning back against his seat.
“So… How have you been?” Devon asked as he waiter walked away.
"Same as always," he said with a slight shrug. "What about you?"
“About the same as usual. I still haven’t gotten the promotion that I thought I was going to, but I’m sure it’ll be soon,” Devon said with a shrug.
"Yeah, I hope you get that quickly." Sebastian smiled at her, tapping his fingers against the table.
Devon smiled back and reached over to take his hand, enclosing his tapping fingers in her own still ones.
“Thank you. What about you? How’s your job?” she asked.
Sebastian blinked, momentarily caught off-guard, before beaming down at their intertwined fingers.
"Good, I've been able to take less shifts at the garage to balance out musical gigs. I've got one tomorrow, actually."
“A gig? Really? That’s great, Seb!” Devon said, grinning as her eyes lit up at the thought. “Where is it?”
"It's at a restaurant just off [insert street] and [insert street]." He propped one elbow up on the table, resting his face in one hand. "I'm really excited."
(Lol. I put out in the most random street names ever. Like Maple and Main and Thorn or something.)
Devon grinned back at him, gently squeezing his hand. "That awesome. I'm glad you're getting more shows. Maybe someday you'll get a record deal…"
