"I'm fasting. I acknowledge the demands of the journey, which is exactly why I am doing this" she looks at Ica solemnly " I'm simply preparing my body for dire conditions. Willpower is a most important pillar of strength." she looks at Ica "But thank you. For worrying" she says. And she's being honest. She likes that Ica cares, but she doesn't need much looking out for. It doesn't hurt though.

Ica nods understandingly. “Ah, I see. Spiritual preparation is often much more powerful than physical preparation. Very wise of you.” She smiles, and continues eating, feeling a bit bad that she was, while Tillia was going without.

Cassia shrugged and pored the powder into her mouth, grinning as the sweet cinnamon and lemon spiked her taste buds.

Ehlaea blushed a bit more at Mithonbaal’s words. She found it difficult to look at him without wanting to burst into laughter.

“Pleasing and amusing,”she replied shyly.

Ehlaea noticed Ica’s stare, but didn’t know how to react. She had seen other folks look at someone with that expression, but she never had someone look at her like that. Why? What was it?

She then listened to the conversation between Ica and Tilila. The warrior was fasting? She had never thought any warrior would fast, but Ehlaea didn’t know Tilila, or her homeland, well, so she supposed she shouldn’t be that surprised.

Mithonbaal notices her trouble keeping laughter at bay and decides to do his best to make her laugh. "If that is true, then I should work on my routine. I need to be hilarious." he says, grinning broadly. He notices Ehlaea's confusion but doesn't verbally comment. She is merely jealous you hold my attention.

Ehlaea giggled before covering her mouth, though all it did was muffle her snickering. He was doing this deliberately, she could tell. A part of her wanted to scold him for that, but one glance at his grin only made her laugh more.

Mithonbaal laughs at the fact that Ehlaea started laughing. "And what's more, if I'm just amusing, what does that say about my looks?"

Exactly half an hour after the Pharaoh had announced the meal, a group of guards marched in. You could tell they were guards because they had blue and white striped headdresses, as well as, of course, the spear and shield in their hands. They stood at the sides of the open doors, except for one, who stood by Princess Neni's side, and one of them announced "The Great House of Horus (an honorary title of the Pharaoh) has ordered your presence at the dock." with these words, the guards turned and waited "We will escort you there."

Ehlaea couldn’t help laughing more when Mithonbaal laughed. His question made her cheeks turn red and she didn’t dare look at him, even as she continued snickering.

When the guards came, she somewhat managed to compose herself and stood, waiting for the others so that they could be escorted out.

Neni stood up and was led to the front of the group by the guard. She didn't want to be, but she wasn't about to defy one of her brother's guards. She sighed and let herself be led to the front. She knew the way to the dock, but since her father's encounter with the foreign mage, she was not allowed anywhere. Her brother was a control freak and she hated it. Not that she had been allowed full freedom before her father had fallen ill, but it was definitely a lot worse now. She looked back at the others longingly. She wanted what they all had.

(Should I make a character sheet for Neni??)

(Only if you want to. I'm fine either way.)

Mithonbaal could barely contain his own laughter once the guards cam in to escort them. He gets up, watching Ehlaea out of the corner of his eye, seeing her red face and inability to make eye contact any more.

Cassia stood up and followed behind Mithonbaal. She assumed that he new what he was doing, and she trusted him a little more than she would have if they had met under different circumstances. Cassia looked back to Ica to see if she was coming, then watched as Ehlaea and Mithonbaal tried not to burst out laughing, not getting the joke even thought she knew greek.

Mithonbaal whirled around, still supressing laughter. "Oh, hey Cassia!" he says, back to Egyptian.

Efraim raised their head when the guards arrived, and seeing the others stand, followed suit and followed the guards. They caught the princess's gaze but quickly looked away. Her Highness looked so sad, but they couldn't really do anything to comfort her. The guards would never let them get that close.

(Hey, Lynn, just waiting for your response)

The guards led the group down the eastern halls of the palace, which seemed to extend way into the distance. As they walked the guards seemed to whisper amongst themselves. They themselves seemed uneasy about the newly imposed king's plans. He was after all, only temporary Pharaoh. While they walked the halls, the decorations seemed to change. They seemed to indicate that the group was getting closer to the river. The designs seemed to rise, as the blue of the walls climbed up to the roof, and the images of the aquatic creatures grew in size. Crocodiles and herons creeped along the walls as they grew closer to the opening at the end of the hall, and with them, the smell of reeds and water grew as well, until they could feel a slight breeze wafting towards them. Finally, they exited the palace. The air at this end seemed cooler than the front entrance. That was because they were right in front of the Nile, vast and stagnantly blue, seeming almost neon beside the decorated umber floor tiles of the palace. As they stepped out onto the white sands of the riverbed, the guards lead the group to a specific boat at the docks, by which the Pharaoh was standing, waving.
