"Eric," Jackson looked at him like a stern mother, "Do ya homework."

"Not like it'll matter." Eric said, shrugging.

"It might," Jackson suggested, "You never know."

Eric shrugged again, picking at his fries.

Jax let out a sigh and kept eating his fries. If he continued to berate Eric, he might not want to hang out with Jackson anymore.

Eric chewed on his fry. Great, now you made it awkward. Why'd you say that?

Jackson glanced back up at Eric, before going back to his fries. Now there was this awkward little bubble he had created and Jackson didn't know how to fix it.

"So the police came in and arrested that kid who came back from suspension." He said, biting his lip. Come on, he probably already heard that!

Jackson looked back up, "Wait really? I thought I heard some commotion, but I didn't realize it was that."

"Yeah, turns out he was dealing pretty seriously." He said, nodding. "It was in my study hall."

"Jesus," Jackson muttered, "And they came in police dogs and all?"

Eric shook his head. "No dogs, unfortunately. Someone ratted him out. No clue what's happening to him now."

"Probably on home arrest," Jackson commented, "Then a trial in the juvenile court… He was under eighteen right?"

"Think so." He said, eyebrows bunched together. "I'm just disappointed I didn't get to see some dogs…"

"That is disappointing," Jackson nodded, "Seeing doggos always helps brightens someone's day."

Eric nodded. Well, you do that too, but-

Seeing you is probably the best part of my day, Jackson thought to himself silently. He looked at Eric, "So, uh, where to after this?"

"Dunno." Eric said, twirling a fry in his fingers. "Anywhere you wanna go in particular?"

"Not really," Jackson shrugged, "I figured you could pick this time."

"Ummmm…" He chewed his lip. "I honestly don't know…"

"A movie maybe?" Jackson offered.

"Sure!" Eric said, smiling. It's not a date it's not a date he'll never like you like that-

Fuck that sounded like it's a date. It's not a date, is it? Jackson smiled back at him, "Great! What type of movies do you like?"

"Action. Or thrillers." He said, eating another fry. "But I'm not really picky."

"I would, uh, prefer action to a thriller," Jackson admitted, "Should we go there and see what's on?"

Eric nodded, smiling. "Yeah!"

Jackson grinned and finished up his fries, "Great! Let's go then."

Eric ate his last few, taking the tray to clear up. "Okay!"

Jackson dropped his soda into the garbage can, "Ready to go?"

Eric nodded, placing the now empty tray on top of the stack. "Yep!"
