She huffed a breath of air, tucking her free hand into her pocket. "My 'outer beauty' is matched by most anyone, and I wasn't aware that I had much inner beauty at all." Osora said, raising an eyebrow at him almost like she found that amusing. "Most people wouldn't agree that scars do much for beauty, either. Especially not ones like mine."

He pulled her closer, pulling her hand from her pocket and pressing a kiss to her arm, against one of the scars. “Yours are beautiful. They show how strong you really are.” He murmured gently, their bags off food dangling off one arm as his other currently held her elbow. “I think you’re stunning.”
She blinked, the light color returning to her cheeks, this time just a bit darker and more noticeable. "Well…thank you?" She almost seemed unsure of how to respond to the compliment about her scars, most definitely partly because of how unexpected the kiss to them was. Her scars were often either ignored or looked at negatively, never treated like that.

He grinned softly, releasing her arm and humming. “Don’t forget that, Toki. You’re beautiful. I think you’re beautiful.” He hummed gently, shifting the food in his arms.
She pressed her lips together for a moment before nodding, opening her mouth a couple of times to say something. "I-…if you say so." She finally managed to get out, resuming walking after a second and moving to walk next to him. "I guess it's safe to say that you're one of very few people to have ever called me beautiful. The third, I think."
group
He tilted his head and stared at Toki as she walked, wanting to kiss her cheek. He didn’t, however, too afraid of weirding her out. “Only the third? Now that’s unacceptable. You’re so pretty and so beautiful it sometimes stuns me. More people should see your beauty.” He huffed, shifting the bags of food to one arm and linking his free arm with her’s. “Mind if we walk arm in arm?” He asked with a wink.
She blinked, but didn't pull her arm away, just adjusted it so that it was more comfortable for both of them. "The first was my older sister, the first time she dyed my hair. She's the one who does the tips." She said, referring to the black tips of her shockingly white hair. "The second was my last boyfriend. And you'd be the third. Am I really all that beautiful, or are you just messing with me?"
group
He nodded gently, thumb brushing against her hand almost as if he wanted to hold her hand. He did. Badly. “Your hair is pretty too. I like the color and the tips work well.” He replied, smiling. Her next words hit him hard. “Of course you are! I would never mess with you about this kind of thing, Toki. You are beautiful.”
"Just making sure." She said, shaking her head slightly. She'd met plenty of people with silver tongues, who lavished compliments upon the person they wished to take advantage of, however that was. Her eyes flickered to their hands, and after a moment, she flipped her hand so that it was palm up and open, offering. "Asami will be thrilled when I let her know you said my hair looked nice. She loves it when people compliment her work."
group
Usually Tali was the one with a silver tongue. But with Toki, everything was genuine. He was very careful with her, feeling some sort of connection with the one like him who chose not to hurt him. “I promise I’m genuine with you, Toki. I’d never lie over something like this.” He murmured, glancing at her open hand. He hesitated and yet still took it, intertwining their fingers with a soft smile. “She did really good. It’s so pretty. I’d dye my hair if I didn’t have the ability to change its color.” He winked, letting the roots of his hair lighten until he was nearly blonde. “I can even make it pink if I wanted to.”
Osora wasn't quite sure why that was something she considered good to know, but it was. Maybe he was lying, sure, but something told her he wasn't. She glanced up as he began to change his hair, her eyes lingering to watch the process. "Pink might suit you." She said, the corner of her mouth twitching up again. It was never much, but it was the closest thing to a smile she could manage most of the time. "My sister will absolutely still bug you to let her dye your hair." She said that without much thought to the meaning behind it, the insinuation(fact, too) that she would gladly have him around long enough to meet her sister.

He laughed softly, letting his hair change back to its near black color. He hummed happily, leaning a little against her and smiling. “As if. You just want to see me with pink hair.” He grinned as he thought over her words. “Mm maybe I will go pink. Pastels are my favorite.” Then she mentioned her sister and he lit up. “I’d gladly let her dye my hair if it means I get to stay around for a bit longer.
"Get my family to like you, and they'll gladly let you hang around." She said, arching an eyebrow just slightly. "And I think I'm already fine with that." She said, looking forward again casually. Her thumb tapped a steady rhythm on his hand, without really thinking about it. "She would love that, and pastels are nice."
group
He smiled as he listened to her talk, watching her for a moment before his eyes fell to the ground. “I’d love to stay for awhile. I’ll rent out an apartment here if I have to.” He murmured, his thumb twitching once before he began to let it rub against her skin. Soft…
“If I let her dye my hair will she like me?”
Her eyes flickered to their hands as his thumb brushed her skin, a bit surprised. Covered in callouses and scars, no amount of lotion had been able to return her skin to it's former…softness. "Asami likes most people, but letting her dye your hair would likely just make you her best friend. She's not one of the ones you have to worry about." She pressed her shoulder to his for a moment. "You should stay. Poe would be devastated if you left."
group
“Then I will let her dye my hair. Because I really want to make a few friends.” He laughed softly, smiling at her as he leaned more into her touch the second her shoulder made contact with his. “And I really do want to hang around you more.” He smiled at her next words. “Ah of course. I can’t leave Poe. He’s too cute and soft and cuddly to leave. Ah hell I think I’m going to have to never leave.” He chuckled, beaming.
“I’ll warn you now, you might change your mind about spending time around me.” She said, staying leaned against him instead of pulling away, which had been her original plan. “But I’m glad you’ll stick around for a bit.” She admitted, another rare moment of openness. “Not just for my cat’s sake.”
group
He laughed softly and shook his head. “I highly doubt I will, Toki. You’re really fun to be around.” He admitted, smiling sweetly at her. “Hey, I want to get to know you better. At least as a friend. You haven’t tried to kill me yet and you bought me food. I’m pretty attached to you.”
Friends. She was pretty sure she had never held Reeha’s hand like this. Hell, even Shou had stuck to following her or walking next to her, never really holding her hand. “I bought you food because it was easier than you trying to flirt free food out of Satou. And you haven’t given me a reason to kill you yet, so.” She assured, patting his hand with her thumb before resuming her tapping.
group
He chuckled. “Oh come on, I can’t flirt my way into getting free stuff?” He asked with a pout. “It’s easy enough. And a night or two isn’t so bad. It’s not like I haven’t done it before…” he murmured, biting his lip. Despite his bragging of how easy it was, Tali seemed to have regrets towards that way of life. He didn’t really like selling off his body for things…
“I won’t give you a reason to kill me, Toki. I’m trying hard to be good for you:” He admitted, blushing a light shade of red.
“Good.” Osora said, her hold on his hand tightening reflexively, like hoping it would keep him from letting go. “I don’t want your blood on my hands too.” She looked off to the side, something for once flickering in her expression, though it wasn’t the best thing to see. A sort of haunted look. “Anyway, it may not be bad, and you may have done it before, but if I’m around, I’ll just pay. By all means, do what you want on your own time, but on mine, I’ll take care of it.”
group
He suddenly leaned over to press a gentle kiss to her temple, sighing softly. “Toki, you won’t have my blood on your hands. If you do kill me, it will be at the fault of me. Please do not hold my death against you.” He told her softly, bringing her closer so he could hug her awkwardly, the bags of food getting in the way. “And you won’t have to kill me. Because I will be a friend.”
When she continued to speak he released her, tugging her gently towards the store her family owned. He smiled softly at her, shaking his head. “Oh no, I’ll help pay whenever I can. I will be good about it too. I’ll use the money I’ve earned and not flirt for discounts either.”
The kiss to her temple startled her, bringing that light color back to her cheeks. The hug took her by surprise too, obvious in the way she froze up for a moment before managing to return it, if awkwardly. “Gods, I hope so.” She whispered, closing her eyes briefly. Moving on from things like that was never easy, and she wasn’t sure she could handle having to-Don’t do that to yourself.
Once he had released her and they were moving toward her family’s store again, she stuck a bit closer to him than she had been before. “Flirting is fine, I’d just prefer you letting me pay over you offering other things to get things for free.”
group
She would never have to kill him… he would make sure of that.
As they continued walking, Tali noticed how much closer she was, biting his lip awkwardly and smiling like a dork. “Are you worried about me, Toki?” He asked teasingly. “I promise I won’t. I want to flirt with only you for a little while longer.”
"Only me?" Osora raised an eyebrow, fully pretending that didn't make her a bit happier. "That seems like quite the promise, considering flirting is something you enjoy doing." And yet, he had stuck to flirting with just her so far. So that matched up.
group
He chuckled good-heartedly, gently squeezing her hand. “I do enjoy doing it. But it’s more fun when I do it with you. And maybe I’m just a little… little bit interested in you.” He admitted, flustering a little at his own words and thoughts. It wasn’t just a little. It was a lot.
She tilted her head, looking up at him in slight confusion. "Interested in me? How do you mean?" She blinked once, making a small 'o' with her mouth. "The flirting. Right." Some part of her had assumed that's all it was, flirting, empty words and smiles.
group
He hid his red face in the shoulder of his jacket, growing suddenly shy. He nodded gently and laughed nervously, as if to play it off. “Y-yeah… you’re pretty and confident and wonderful and I just find it all interesting.” He replied honestly. “I guess I could say I’m attracted to you.”
She was quiet, mulling that over for a moment, before nudging his shoulder with her own. "I guess you could say I'm attracted to you, too." She said, giving his hand a squeeze as if proving that she did. "You're sweet, fun, and haven't given me shit about…this." She lifted their hands to gesture at her face, referring to her inability to express emotion normally.
group
Tali’s head shot up. He looked at her incredulously before a grin slowly split across his face. “R-really?! You really are?” He asked, refraining from jumping for joy. As soon as he would get his own room he would celebrate. “I wouldn’t give you shit about something you have a hard time with. It’s just a part of your life. There’s nothing wrong with it or with the fact you struggle with it.”
