Evan sighed and just got up. "I am deeply sorry for the way things have happened I didn't mean to do such things." He bowed deeply. "Sire. I will be in my room for most of the day. If you need me please feel free to knock on the door. Unless. You'd like to do anything about our current situation."
I Hate You So Kiss Me(0/0) (Closed!) (Stalkers Welcome)
No, I… I'll… I'll be excusing myself now. Marius slipped out of the bed and walked out the door so he could head to a nearby bathroom. He hadn't had to do this in ages and he really wasn't looking forward to it.
Evan shrugged and went back to his room. He didn't bother dealing with it,diving into his books and soon was lost in another world,of aliens and adventure.
Marius left the bathroom several minutes later with his face very flushed. He glanced around to check and make sure no one was around before he headed towards his room.
(Evelyn?)
Evan got up and left his room getting bored ,and waved too Marius before he headed to the main hall. He had seen a grand piano and his fingers were just itching to play. So soon enough a waltz started up, as his dances glided across the keys.
Marius flushed harder when he saw Evan and quickly shut himself in his room, his heart pounding. He locked the door and curled up on his bed, hugging the blanket Evan had given him close to his chest again as he tried to relax.
Evan began to sing. His voice was deep and sultry, like honey and moonshine. It was soft at first but soon enough his voice rose higher and higher. Even more interesting he was singing in a foreign language. His home language of Ob.
After a few minutes of listening to Evan's muffled singing through the door, Marius tentatively ventured out so that he could hear better. He could play piano just fine and dandy, but obviously was unable to sing. His inability made it more intriguing to him whenever he heard someone else doing it.
Evan had stood up and was swaying back and forth, his feet moving in a waltz as he played and sing, totally lost in the music. He switched over to the native language of what Marius spoke, his notes echoing off the walls. He hadn't noticed him watching yet as he played out song after song, seeming to be in this moment a walking music book.
Marius tentatively wandered over to Evan after a few seconds and sat beside him, soon beginning to play the harmony to the song the other was playing. He couldn't sing, of course, but he still wanted to be a part of this.
Evan stopped and looked down at Marius, and blushed as he sat down. "I…I apologize. It's been awhile since I've played. I didn't mean to get so carried away, and disrupt you." He smiled and continued his playing, now only humming the lyrics, before going quiet. Who knew Evan who was so flirtatious before, could be so shy and flustered.
Don't apologize. You… sound nice. Marius flushed a bit as well as he continued playing. His small hands made it harder for him to play sometimes, but he didn't let it stop him. It's been a while since I've played.
"Yeah? Me too. And thank you Marius." He smiled and began to play a much simpler melody. "I always love playing but, I travel so much with Marianna I rarely get the chance too. She hates music, finds it just annoying noise most of the time. If it's slow it's boring and if it's fast she says she can't keep up with it. There's no inbetween, and of course she has too bring me along for many a reason. Mostly because she thinks she's in love with me. She's confessed it too me many times. I don't like women, which only angers her more, mostly because she can't convince me to give her a chance…so sorry, but I thought you should know the women you may end up marrying. She's to be crude and upfront, a bitch. You aren't as bad as her, which is nice."
Well, I'm not into women either, so I'm sure she's not going to be a fan of that. Marius hummed the tune to himself as he played the piano softly. I've never fallen in love with anyone, you know. Not really my thing. I'm sure I'll be expected to produce an heir with Marianne, though, so I guess we'll see how that goes… He sighed softly and brushed his tail against the ground.
"Some people say love doesn't exist. I don't believe that personally. But I do know how royalty works, and people rarely marry for love but power and partnerships instead. It disgusts me personally, even though technically me and my sister are royalty. Marianna has 15 siblings, but all of us are adopted so since she's the one birth daughter she's the one heir to the throne." He shrugged. "I'm glad I can trust you with this information Marius."
Not sure why you do, but I suppose you can. I don't exactly have anyone else to talk to who wouldn't already know. Marius glanced up at Evan for a moment before continuing to play. I don't have any living siblings. I'm fairly certain that I had a younger brother who was stillborn or something. He hummed softly to himself and trained his eyes on the keys. I'm not incredibly interested in being king, but I do like the power and I think I'll do fine anyway.
"From what I heard from the people when travelling yesterday, it seems that they're convinced you'll enslave and kill them all. I just think they never got to truly know you. I don't think you're some cruel overlord like that, simply annoyed with what cards life has dealt you. Tell me if you wish, if you weren't a prince what sort of life would you lead?"
Easy. Astronomer. Marius didn't feel like telling Evan that the people's fears were probably valid. They were aware of his history, after all. I've always liked the stars. I spend a lot of time up in that star tower, you know. The map you gave me isn't the first map I've ever done by a long shot.
"I could tell. Most people would be absolutely lost on how to do it. I am many a thing. Astronomer is just one job description. I am also a translator, a scribe, a poet, and an actor when I get a break enough to get into a play. I guess what I'm telling you is that prince and King may be your main role but that doesn't mean you can't be more then that. You're talented at the piano too." He smiled and nodded once. "I have traveled the world 50 times, and I see it all the time. Men turned sour by the bad hand but they keep playing with their cards instead, hoping to get better. Instead of living passionately and getting a better hand. Do realize you have your priorities but you don't have to center yourself upon it. Or else, you'll just end up digging your own grave." He kissed Marius's forehead, when Evelyn came in. "OH HEY HE'S ALIVE! Great. Hey Evan I need some help." "With?" "You'll see." He sighed and shook his head. "If you need me, just come find me. I'm going to go stop my sister from getting beheaded." He then stood up and walked away.
Well, I'm not sure I'll have the time to do what I want when I'm king… Marius sighed softly. I'll be dreadfully busy, you know. I'm sure I'll still go up there every night as usual, but… there's only so much that I can do about it. He flushed when Evan kissed him and looked away so Evelyn wouldn't see him. Farewell, Evan…
Evan followed Evelyn. "Not another prank. Cmon go easy on him, he just had a head injury and I doubt his head feels very good right now. You're lucky he doesn't remember it was your fault or else I'd be twinless." He dragged her away from the stables, not even wanting to know what the prank was, and sighed. "Mom will be here in 6 days, can't you behave until then?" "But Evan-" "No Evelyn." She groaned, and Evan shrugged. "Aren't you a bard? Why are you here?" "I was but the knight got tired of me, so I was hired as Prince Pricks personal entertainer. I hate it but I have the best roof over my head and okay food in my stomach." "Go take a shower, you smell. I'm going to go read." He then huffed and headed back to his room.
Marius continued playing the piano after Evan left, and was still playing when the other returned. The music was good, but obviously unaccompanied by vocals like Evan's had been. Marius sighed softly to himself as he tried to clear his mind, not even noticing when Evan reentered the castle. Their conversation of only a few minutes prior was making him overthink everything, which wasn't helpful for his throbbing head.
Evan angrily stomped off to his room, obviously pissed at his rather idiotic sister, and slammed the door to his room. He began to read trying to distract himself, but to no avail. And they weren't in Obdin either, so it wasn't like he had any friends to go sneak off to go see, or anyone but himself to help. He hated that part about all the travelling, he couldn't connect with people.
After a while of playing piano, Marius sighed and got to his feet. It was starting to get dark, so he headed over to Evan's room and opened the door. He obviously didn't bother to knock. Evan. I'm going to the star tower if you're interested in joining.
Evan nodded and got up, grabbing his knapsack. "Grab the blanket from your room if you'd please? In case we fall asleep again." He smiled softly and grabbed his blanket and pillows. "Do you need me to carry you up the stairs again? If you carry all the bedding I can do that for you. Of course only if you wish." He smiled softly.
…Fine. Marius went and fetched the blanket from his room before he returned to Evan and held his free arm up to the other. We should get going. It's getting dark already, so the stars will be very clear soon.
Evan picked him up, and also balanced a lantern on top of the all the blankets. "Be careful, we don't want to be setting ourselves or the castle on fire." He then bridal carried him all the way up the stairs, and then set him down carefully. He then set up the larger of the two blankets on the ground, put down the pillows, and let Marius put down the other blanket as he went over to the crank and opened up the window of the observatory. He then pulled out another pair of apples from the knapsack, handing one too Marius. He sat on the blanket and studied the night sky with a smile he couldn't remove from his face. (They forgot things like lunch. And dinner…we'll just say they ate in the town and that dinner is a bit late)
(Shhhh)
Marius carefully lay his blanket on the ground with a soft hum before getting himself settled on it. He pulled a second blanket over himself to huddle up in and put a pillow beneath himself to rest his elbows on while he looked up at the stars. He took off his hat for the time being so that the fake dangling stars wouldn't obscure his vision of the night sky.
Evan watched Marius carefully, a smile on his face. He then grabbed the lantern and blew it out, setting it aside before laying down next to Marius. "What's your favorite constellation?" He asked softly, looking at Marius with curious eyes. No harm was in them, only starstruck by Marius's handsomeness.
Mm… I dunno. There's so many to choose from. But Lepus, probably. Marius didn't bother with a chart tonight. He just wanted to enjoy the stars without worrying about marking them all down. He knew where they were. He kept his gaze on the stars, his eyes shining with the millions upon millions of little lights in the sky.
