The dude sighs.
"Lady, you follow me. Jo, go find a darkroom and pass out there. I'll deal with you later."

Nikki hesitates going with the man alone looking over at Jo and shaking her head so she'll stop thinking, and moved forward after him
Jo shakes their head.
"I'm staying with Nikki for now."
Their tone was final as they pull off their sunglasses.

Nikki let out a small breath as Jo walked with her and she wrapped her arms around her stomach once more
The dude sighs, but knows better than to argue.
Jo gently takes one of Nikki's hands, holding it reassuringly.
Also, he was barely able to walk, and was using Nikki as a support.

Nikki takes his hand and breaths in carefully filly aware that he isn't falling over because she's there
Jo sighs softly, greatful.
The doctor stops them at a door, opening it, then gestures for them to step inside.
"So. Lady, can I have your name please?"

Nikki steps inside the room and looks over to the man "Nicole Chan" she spat out, if he wanted to have an attitude he'd get one back
The doctor tilts his head.
He'd asked a simple, innocent question, using a proffessional tone.
"Miss Chan. Can you tell me what the reason is for your visit today?"

She took a breath and looked at Jo "pregnancy scare.. I don't trust just pregnancy tests and I don't trust hospitals so he brought me here"
(A little bit, maybe, but not exactly one that'd be detectable, lol)
The man whistles slightly, glancing at Jo.
"Well, rest assured, if it's Jo you slept with. . . they use condoms, but they're sterile."
Jo looks away, wincing. They hadn't expected the doctor to just come out and say it.

The wind in Nikki's lungs felt as if it was knocked out of her and her face turned a light shade of pink "i- why didn't you say that before…"

Jo sighs.
"Slipped my mind. . ." they murmur, still not looking at either of the people in the room.
The doctor sighs.
"I only got the results back after his wife died. The fact that he's sterile, well. . . he associates learning that with losing his wife. He tries to forget it."

Nikki looked down at the floor and takes a breath "i- I didn't know jo I'm sorry.. "

Jo shakes his head.
"Stop apologizing for things that aren't your fault, Nicole."

Jo sighs.
"Look. . . just, what do you think you have to actually apologize for?"

She pauses for a moment and huggs her stomach "yelling at you… All the time. "

Jo snorts.
"Try again, sweetheart."

Nikki rolls her eyes and shakes her head "what do you want me to say Jo? "

"Just stop apologizing for things that aren't your fault, okay?" Jo replies.

"Whatever.. Okay just forget I said anything. " Nikki walked outside of the house rather quickly but not the same way the entered she went through the door in the back and sat down on the stairs leading to a grassy area

Jo staggers to their feet, following behind Nikki.
"Stop doing things like that. Stop trying to push me away in these moments." they say softly.

Jo raises their hands in surrender, which was a bad move, because they nearly collapse downwards, having stopped bracing theirself against the wall.
