Nikki slips off the bike fluidly before putting the helment on the table next to the door and walked inside throwing herself onto the couch
Jo follows, collapsing on the floor in front of the couch.
"Dear god, I'm tired. . ."

" you've been asleep for nearly four days straight-"
"And? I can still be tired. Just because you sleep does not mean you rest." Jo sighs.

"how the fuck are you going to sleep for four days and not rest?"
Jo shrugs.
"Does it look like I know?"

Nikki rolls over to look at him
"hey usually your coming up with a dumb ass excuse by now."
"And now that I'm not, what are you going to do?" Jo asks, shifting slightly and staring up at Nikki.

"enjoy the quiet? take a nap myself read a book…….theres more but eh"
Jo pauses, then shrugs.
"I want cuddles." they say suddenly.

Nikki pauses and looks down at him before shrugging "fine"
Jo smiles, sitting up and clambering onto the couch, shifting Nikki so that she rested against his body.
He hums a soft tune after he gets comfortable.

Nikki laughed a little bit once he situated himself and her she nuzzled against his chest and laid her head down sighing
Jo closes his eyes slowly, still humming the tune.

"What are you humming? "
Jo pauses, thinking.
"It's a lullaby. 'You Are My Sunshine.'" they say softly.

"I've never heard it. " she lied she'd heard it many times as an infant but she didn't want to talk about that
Jo chuckles, feeling the way Nikki's body tensed but not pressing the subject.
Slowly, Jo's breath evens out.

She sighed once she figured Jo was asleep and nuzzled closer to him carefully
Jo's arms only wrap a little tighter around Nikki.
For the next couple hours, Jo just sleeps.

Nikki closes her eyes and just laid there awake until Jo woke up lost in memories
Jo slowly wakes up, yawning.
"Good morning, love. . ." he says softly, kissing Nikki on the forehead.

Nikki looked up at jo with a relieved expression " good morning how did you sleep?"
Jo smiles sleepily.
"Better than I have in a while."
ac_unit
"hm that's good I'm glad."
Jo nods slightly.
"So. . . how long until we go on our first proper date?"
ac_unit
"depends on if someones going to die by your hand on the same night" she said with a smirk
"Only if they interfere with our plans, love." Jo chuckles.

"I don't think they will-"
"Who knows? I'm wanted in all 50 states. I'm sure that as soon as I step into a popular restaurant, they'll have security on me. And then I might have to crack some skulls." Jo replies.
