He kept a careful eye on him, making sure he was okay. He refused to leave anyone in the dark like how his family did.

Arthur curled into himself even tighter, still shaky s he clutched at his head to try and make it stop.

He hummed softly, knowing music always made him feel better when he went through something like this. No that he could hear him.

Arthur felt himself start to relax as he was able to focus on the song, rather than the echoing screams in his memories.

His humming only continued, getting lost in the music rather than in real life.

Arthur let himself relax to the notes of the song.

His humming turned to a soft singing but it was quiet. He never really sang in front of people, it made him feel weird.

Arthur eventually relaxed and came out of it, still a bit shaky, but the memories had stopped flooding his mind.

He snapped himself out of it. Bad boys don't sing, he knew that and had to stick to that. What would Mariah say if she had seen him?

Arthur looked up at him, his eyes still tired, but clear now.

He glanced down at him, just staring quietly. What was there to say?

Arthur sighed, looking away, he knew he mist look like a wreck, and from a simple nightmare too.

He looked back up at the rest of the group, never saying a word.

Arthur sighed, curling tightly into himself. Any other time he would've shifted, but not now.

"Bad dreams are the name of the game around here. You're lucky it was us who found you and not anyone else or else you'd be having hell itself in your dreams."

"I've already lived through hell… All I have to remember is the real thing was worse than any dream…" said Arthur softly, having gotten used to ending up in a nightmare alone.

"Oh no, this would be worse. So much worse. I would know." He shuddered slightly.

"How could it be worse?" asked Arthur.

"Lots of ways." That I can't explain without getting PTSD flashbacks…

Arthur sighed. "Still can't be any worse than what I've lived through…"

"That's what you think." He glanced at him, just watching him.

"Have you ever lived through twelve years of more or less constant torture within your own mind?" He asked flatly, his eyes showing a flash of intense pain as he sat up. "Watching your younger twin develope permanent trauma and fear from just seeing your face, and being completely helpless to do anything about it?"

"Not twin but a younger sibling, yes." He snapped. "You're not the only one who has gone through trauma, kid."

Arthur sighed, "I know that, but that doesn't mean it hurts any less."

"I didn't say it would but it doesn't mean no one else has gone through it." He rolled his eyes with a scoff.

Arthur sighed. "Thanks for waking me…" he said quietly, not meeting the other's eyes, "and saving my hide…"

"What did you think I was going to do? Just leave you there to die?" He raised an eyebrow at him.

"Anyone else would've" said Arthur. "I guarantee it."

"Well I'm not anyone. I'm me." He shrugged.

Arthur had to crack a weak smile at that.
