Caenya tucked her knees up to her chest. "Everybody… everything is free," she whispered in awe. Then she shook her head. "Nobody should have to be kept in the walls. The city should be free, not guarded."

group

Daniel shrugged.
"Too many people think the wall is to protect them, not trap them. So many just… Never step out side the boundary of their homes." He looked over at Caenya.
"If one thing good came out of me leaving home, it would be just being free like this. And meeting you, of course."

"I agree. If I never traveled, I'd never had met you." She smiled softly. "Would you go back? Home, I mean, if you wanted to return."

group

Daniel went quiet for a moment, taking another sip of his water.
"No," he finally said. "I don't think I would be welcome." Daniel sighed a little.
"I really did fuck up."

"Oh." Caenya's voice went quiet. "I'm sorry. That… that's hard."

group

Daniel shrugged.
"It's been like this for years. I'll be fine out here, in nature." Still, he sighed softly. He really did miss home. He missed his friends, and his creator…

Caenya didn't have much more to say. She felt sad for Daniel, but how bad could it be to live out in the woods with these stars, the animals, the plants…
She found herself drifting off to sleep in the chair, her arms wrapped around her legs.

Daniel looked over when Caenya didn't say anything.
"Aww," he says quietly, smiling. He stood, carefully picking Caenya up to lay her down on his own bed. He could handle sleeping in the grass.

Morning came, and Caenya woke with a jolt. She sat, trying to make sense of her surroundings, when a sharp pain hit her head. She was surprised she even vaguely remembered what happened last night. Daniel lay on the ground, looking peacefully asleep. "You shouldn't have," Caenya whispered to herself. She found it hard to believe somebody would take care of her as he did.

Daniel was asleep on his stomach, tail resting on his chest to keep him warm. He was using his hands as pillows. Daniel's ears twitched when Caenya spoke, and he opened his eyes.
"Morning," he said. He didn't have much of a hangover, but it was still there.

"Oh, sorry," Caenya said. "I didn't mean to wake you. Here, have the bed. You really didn't have to sleep on the ground for me." She stood slowly, feeling a bit guilty from disturbing him.

group

"It's fine, it's fine," Daniel said, waving his hand. He stand up, yawning.
"I have no trouble giving my bed to you." He smiled at Caenya.

She returned the smile. "Thank you, so much. I wish I could stay out here, but I everything I own is back at the inn. Back in the city…" After seeing the stars last night, Caenya did not want to return to inside the walls.
(Do you have any specific plots ideas? Or we could just see where this goes.)

group

(I have a couple. Daniel is gonna have to find out about Caenya eventually. Maybe they have to head to Daniel's home?)

Daniel watched Caenya as she talked, seeing the look in her eyes.
"Well, obviously you have to go back for your things," he said. "But you don't have to stay in the city. Those walls couldn't contain your beauty." Just like the nature here, and the stars.

(ok!)
Caenya blushed. She would've liked to say something; compliment him back, but she just didn't know how. "I would like to explore," she said, toying with a small braid in her hair. "You know, see the rest of the world outside of city walls. But… I don't know the first thing about living out here."

group

"Well, why don't you come with me?" Daniel smiled a bit, flicking his tail a little.
"I could show you how to live out here. I've been doing it for a while." Daniel smiled.

"Yeah? I'd love that, thank you," she said sincerely. She smiled when he did. She quite liked his smile. "I guess I'll go retrieve my stuff back at the inn, then. Would you come with me?"

group

"Of course. There are too many people who would try to hurry a girl as pretty as you." Daniel found Caenya's smile nice. He stood, bowing a little to her.
"It would be my honor to go with you." He actually started packing up his camp, getting it all into one bag.

Caenya could not recall a time somebody had been so sweet to her.
"And it's an honor to have you come," she said happily. "You're not staying here anymore?" Him packing up confused her, but she helped him anyway.

group

"Nah. I don't usually stay in one spot too long. Helps me not get attached to the area. There's a lot more to the with then where I've been. It'd be nice to see more of it." Daniel slung his pack onto his back smiling.
"And I'm glad I have, because now I've met you."

"I can understand that. I don't stay put, either." They started along the path back to the city. Back inside the walls… "How do you feel about getting something to eat? I came across a stand that sold some very good food the other day."

group

"Sounds good to me. I'll pay." Daniel winked, walking a little faster to get in front of Caenya, then turned so he was walking backwards to give Caenya a smile.

"You don't have to do that!" Caenya couldn't help it, she grinned back. "C'mon, I'll show you where it is." She took his hand and led him down a crowded street to where shopkeepers had set up their market stands. They arrived at a small one, meeting a friendly shopkeeper.

group

Daniel let Caenya lead him to the stall, smiling. He stopped at the stall, smiling as he looked over the food.
"You have a good taste in food," he noted to Caenya.

"Mhm," she agreed. "Try this!"
She held out a small skewer of meat, after eating half of it herself.

group

Daniel accepted the food with a smile. He took a bite, eyes widening a little.
"This is really good!" He said, tail wagging happily.

"It is, isn't it?" Caenya wrapped up some more food for later, and they paid and left to the inn. "So how do you usually get food out in the woods? Do you hunt?"

(Sorry in advance if I'm not active much this week; I'm falling kinda behind in school and gotta catch up :)

group

(I understand, no worries)
"Sometimes," Daniel said. "And sometimes I just come in town to get things I can't get in nature."

"Ah, okay." Caenya greeted the keeper of the inn with a nod as they entered. "Alright, I don't have much stuff. It shouldn't take me too long…" she said as she began to stuff some clothes into a pack.

group

"Would you like some help?" Daniel asked. He stepped forward, offering himself to her. To help, of course.
