Joy was on the couch, cooing at her baby, kissing him on the nose.
“Mommy loves you,” she cooed, poking his nose gently. “Too much. Who’s mommy’s prince? You are, you are~”

Bryce silently watched the pair from the doorway to the hall, a wide smile on his face. He had just changed into clean clothes. Well, it was really just sweats because he figured he wouldn’t be going anywhere any time soon, so he may as well be comfortable, right?
Ambrose looked up at Joy with wide eyes, reaching out to grab her nose. Joy pretended to bite him. Ambrose didn’t like it. He started crying.
(awe)
Bryce winced in sympathy for Joy. She was just trying to play with the baby, but she’d scared him. He walked over with a small smile to help and sat beside her.
“Hey, love. How’re you doing?” he asked softly.
Joy sighed.
"He doesn't seem to like me very much," she murmured, picking up Ambrose in her arms, bouncing him up and down lightly. "I'm sorry, love. Did I scare you?"
She nuzzled his stomach and Ambrose's crying quietened to a few sniffles right before they erupted into giggles.
“He loves you just fine, Joy,” Bryce assured her softly as he watched her tickling their son. He grinned at the baby’s laughter, thinking it might have been the greatest sound ever.
Joy grinned.
"Do you want to hold him? He loves you more," to prove her statement, Ambrose began to reach out for his father.
"Sure. Id love to hold him," Bryce chuckles as he gently rook his son in his arms. He smiled down at the baby and began to coo at and burble random strings of words to the boy.
Joy stood up and stretched, wincing at the movement.
"Are you hungry, Bryce?" she asked quietly. "I can cook."
Bryce looked up just in time to see her wince and shook his head. "I am a little hungry, but we can order food in. You don't have to cook right now, love. I'll cook for a while."
Joy frowned.
“But you don’t like takeouts…” she murmured. “And it’s okay. I can cook. I can cook simple things.”
"I don't mind them, love. I just don't like to eat them every day," Bryce clarified gently, reaching out to grab her hand so she would sit back down. "Really, Joy, it's okay."
“Are you sure?” She murmured, resting her head on his shoulder when he sat down next to her. She reached out to gently rub their son’s cheek. “Then I guess I can put Ambrose to sleep…”
“Yeah. That sounds good. What do you want? We can get pizza, Chinese, whatever you want,” Bryce offered with a kiss to her cheek.
"Pizza is fine. You can get anything as long as it has extra cheese and no pineapples," she picked up Ambrose and kissed his cheek softly. "I'll be in the room, okay? As soon as you order, you can come in."
“Sounds good, babe. I’ll just do a medium extra cheese pizza, then,” Bryce said, kissing her cheek back before she stood. “I’ll be in in a few moment.”
Joy went back to their room and settled herself on the bed, cooing at the baby before she began to feed him. Soon enough, Ambrose fell asleep in her arms.
A couple of minutes later, Bryce stepped into the room. He smiled at the scene before him, then settled down on the bed beside Joy. “Hey, love. How’d it go?”
Joy straightened, trying not to wake up baby Ambrose. She leaned against Bryce and sighed softly.
"He's asleep," she murmured. "Can you believe it, Bryce? We're parents."
“I know… It’s crazy. Can you believe that just three years ago you were blushing and stuttering every time you were around me? And now we’ve got a kid…” Bryce mused softly. “That’s just amazing…”
Joy flushed when she remembered her teenage days. He wasn’t kidding when he said she was a blushing and stuttering mess around him.
“And we’re getting married in a month,” she added with a soft smile. “I love how we’ve come so far…”
“Time has just flown by… The anniversary of when we met is in a couple of weeks, too. There are a lot of things to celebrate lately,” Bryce murmured, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
(Idk what to do now lol.)
(Lol. Um… Me neither…)
(🤷♀️)
(I was honestly thinking the beginning would go longer, but I enjoyed it either way!
Maybe we just call this done?)
(Aw… okay… sounds good, I guess.)
