Daso was on a roll now. "I could get you some baggy clothes, and a hat to cover your hair and part of your face. Oh, and maybe you could smudge some dirt or something on your face so people don't look too close. Pirates look dirty anyways."
I’m bored and want another one on one rp, fight me (open)
She smiled and nodded, “If you could find those things I’d be amazingly happy.” She ran a hand over her hair and looked out of the barrel again, trying to see how many people there were on the ship.
"Okay, be right back," he promised, wandering casually across the deck. Dozens of men hurried by, barking orders and carrying barrels. He headed down to the main bunker, where several hammocks were set up. He rummaged through the bags surrounding the hammocks, looking for the most raggedy stuff, hoping nothing would be missed. He found a large, possibly blood stained cap, a ripped shirt, and dirty, patched up trousers. He hurried back to the barrel, keeping the stuff behind his back. "Got the stuff!"
She looked out at him and gave a smile even if he couldn’t see it, “Thank you.” She looked around inside the barrel and sucked in a small breath, “I don’t think I’ll be able to change in here though, it’s too small.”
"Oh…true." Daso paused, trying to think. "I could guard this area while you change behind the barrel as fast as you can. No one can see us unless they round the corner."
“Tell me if anyone is coming, and I’m trusting you not to look,” She said, opening the barrel and scrambling out. Andrea took the clothes from him and dipped behind he barrel quickly, scrambling to get ready as fast as she could.
He blushed, keeping his eyes on the pirates. "I'm not going to look."
She changed quickly and tucked her hair up into the cap to finish off the look, turning and making sure she didn’t look too girlish before nodding, “I’m done Daso. How do I look?”
Daso grinned. "You're the prettiest boy I've ever seen, but you'll pass if no one looks too hard."
Her cheeks flushed and she looked down at the deck, a light smile crossing her face, “Then the last thing I need is dirt or something to smear on my face, and maybe make my voice deeper.”
"I'm not sure if you'll find dirt, but there might be ash or something down where they shoot the cannons," he suggested.
Andrea nodded, glancing around to see if anyone could tell if she was a girl, or even if they had spotted her, “I’ll go get some ash then.”
Daso looked around for the stairs leading down to the cannon room. "Hopefully no one asks why we're going down there."
“I’ll be really fast, hopefully no one even notices we’re there,” She said, wandering around and looking for the stairs, “All I’m going to do is run some on my face and make it look like I’m a worker.”
"I'll guard the stairs," he decided as he followed her. "If someone's down there, you've got to sound convincing. Give me your best man voice."
Andrea glanced at Daso and cleared her throat, dropping her voice down super deep, “Uh, how’s this?” The voice was way too deep to keep up but she looked to him to see if it sounded convincing.
He tried to keep a straight face for as long as he could, but the sight of her determined face as she comically deepened her voice was too much. He burst into laughter. "Well, maybe you should pretend to be mute."
She pretended to scowl at him, though a small smile came onto her face at the sight of him laughing, “I’m only pretending to be mute as a last option.” She cleared her throat again and made her voice a little less deep, “Hows this?” It was a little less stressing on her throat but she knew it was still too much effort to keep up.
Daso cleared the laughter from his throat. "Okay, that's somewhat better. But honestly, you could lighten it some more. They'll just assume you're really young."
“What about this?” She said, following what he said and only dropping her voice a little, hoping it worked, “Do I sound like a guy?”
Daso nodded. "Much better. I mean, you sound like a kid, but at least you don't sound too girly."
She made a note to drop her voice a little more so she didn’t sound as childish before nodding, “Now, time to find the cannons.”
"Alright," Daso said, looking around. He wandered back towards the center of the deck. There were stairs leading below deck a little ways away from the center, but he wasn't sure if there were cannons down there or not. "We could try those stairs."
“It’s not going to hurt if we do,” She agreed, switching to the boy voice and walking to the stairs.
He followed her down the stairs. It was dark and damp, and he was pretty sure he spotted multiple rats scurrying by. "Nice place."
She wrinkled her nose and nodded, “They definitely know how to clean up don’t they.” Andrea watched each step carefully as she ventured further into wherever they were going, looking for anything which resembled a cannon.
Daso strolled past a few benches where rows were sticking out. "I guess this is where they row if there's no wind or whatever," he said, pretending to know about ships. "We must be getting close."
“I hope so, I’m not a huge fan of rats, and there seems to be a multitude of them down here.” She said, looking at the ores and the benches that went with them, “I hope I don’t have to do this at all.”
Daso grimaced. "Same, I'm not a fan of–" suddenly he tripped, nearly crashing onto the ground. "Oh, I found a cannon ball."
She jumped when he tripped, spinning to make sure he was alright, “That means there’s gotta be ash close here, just gotta find some.”
