Marco didn't need to be reminded of how hungry he was, but he also needed to kno the other would back off and slow down. Otherwise he might end up locked in the other's bathroom having a panic attack.

Marco shifted back a moment later, tense as he pulled his knees to his chest. "I've been on the streets for 6 years now. You should have an idea of what it's like for shifters out there…" he voice was quiet, "Then add in racism." he gestured to his darker skin, "And homophobia.." he looked down to the floor again, "Is it any wonder I don't trust you?" he asked. "I… I want to trust you Levi… I do… I really really do… but.. I.. I need you to understand that I can't…. not yet…"

"No, no, I get it. As of right now I'm basically another stranger. I want you to know, that everything I told you about my life is real. Marco didn't answer, instead simply shifting again, first into a cat, hopping up onto the bed hesitantly, then into a raccoon, his body much thinner than a raccoon's should be.

He didn't grab or pet him, he just sat there wishing he could. He played with his short hair and watched his finger.
