(G’morning)
I blended and shaded each rose, sticking mostly with a pink and red theme, and when I was done, I cautious held the cast up to admire my work. “Violets…” I murmured, pulling up a reference picture on my phone. After practicing a few times on the back of my hand, I began to bring the purple flowers to life, first with meticulous line art, then with purples and indigos.

Juliet drawing lightly on my arm felt good. I could just barely feel her light touches through the cast, freeing me from the grips of the constant dull ache that I had grown accustomed to. I leaned against the railing, watching her work with half-lidded eyes.

The cool shades blended together in a manner almost reminiscent of watercolours. When I was finally finished, his cast was a gentle explosion of colour, of intricate lineart. Near the base of his thumb, in tiny, almost illegible letters, I wrote the words 'You're my favourite idiot'.
I stared at the cast, star struck by Juliet’s talent. “You should be an artist.” I mumbled, tracing the intricate drawings with my finger. “It must be hard being so amazing all the time.” I teased lightly.

I swatted his shoulder lightly, turning off my phone's flashlight (which I'd been using to illuminate Romeo's cast in order to draw on it). "Hilarious. But, um, if I had a choice, I wouldn't be an artist. I'd be an actress, remember?"

“Of course I remember. I read Macbeth for you.” I teased, leading over to press a kiss to her cheek. “You just happen to be incredibly talented.”

"I'm not that good…" I mumbled, a faint pink dusting my cheeks. "I'm more average. Marina is a much better singer and actress than me."

“Don’t tell Mercutio, he’ll complain about that too. I can only listen to so much.” I rested my chin on her shoulder. “But either way, you have the most beautiful voice in the world.”

"You've never heard me sing," I laughed quietly, laying my head on top of his. "But I appreciate the compliment."
“I don’t have to, just hearing you talk is enough.” I shifted my gaze up to look at her, suppressing a laugh.
"But—" I cut myself off before I could start listing off everything wrong with the way my voice sounded.
“Don’t bother protesting. I could listen to you talk all day.” I insisted, reaching over and squeezing her hand.
Speaking of the daytime…… I glanced down at the time, the blue light from my phone illuminating the softened curves of my face.
"It's really late, Romeo… I don't want to keep you up all night.."
“Awe, don’t make me go yet.” I pouted, hiding my face in the crook of her neck. “My room’s cold. Rafael turned the heat off in there again.” I complained softly.
"Romeo, it's three in the morning…." I sighed through my nose, slipping a hand into his hair. "As much as I want you to stay…. you need at least a few hours of sleep. Please?"
“Alright…” I murmured, enjoying the feeling of her hand in my hair. “Text me tomorrow? Please?” I pressed several kisses to her cheek.
"I will," I promised, leaning into his caresses. "But you have to promise me not to react when we see each other. Treat me coldly in front of everyone else, you have to. If I'm ever hurt, you can't rush to help, no matter how bad the damage. Alright?"
“I… I’ll try.” I replied quietly. The thought of seeing Juliet hurt made me squirm a bit. “Marina will be looking out for you, right? I don’t have to worry too much?”
"You can't just try, Romeo. I know it's hard, and it'll be hard for me too, but even if I'm curled up on the ground with blood streaming from my nose and several broken bones, you have to turn away. And yeah, Marina will be looking out for me, but I can look out for myself.
“I know… I will. Mercutio will be happy to lecture me if I get too close anyways.” I jested, my voice fading out. “Be careful though. Stay away from my shitty family and I’ll try not to call your cousin a prick. Deal?” I teased.
A smile tugging on my lips, I nodded. "Deal. And the same goes for you, alright?"
“Only if you agree to call Benvolio a prick more often.” I smiled softly. “But I’ll stay away. I promise. Can’t say I won’t text you as Alessandro though.”
"That sounds fine by me." My smile mirrored his. "Any chance that you'll kiss me goodnight?"
“Absolutely.” I leaned over pressing a kiss to her lips. I would’ve rather stayed here all night, sleeping next to her on the balcony. But I valued my life and Juliet’s. Even though my room is cold, I at least have blankets.
“Mm.” I smiled into the kiss, pressing my mouth against his a little harder before pulling away. “Goodnight, Romeo.”
“Goodnight, Juliet.” I stood up, climbing over the railing and back into the tree, slowly working my way down, and biting the inside of my cheek to keep myself from making any noises when I hit my cast.
I watched him go, my chest constricting painfully. Left alone with my thoughts, I slipped into a deep reflection of everything that had just happened, my head spinning.
It was as if I had been torn open, my innermost feelings exposed to him, leaving only raw honesty. And I absolutely loved it.
I slipped out of Capulet territory sneaking back home and into my bed by 4 A.M. Exhausted, but happy. The feelings building up inside had finally been release, and better yet, returned. Part of me was still in shock that I actually kissed her. I still fell back to sleep fairly quickly, having throughly worn myself out.
