Ava opened her eyes and looked over at Blue. Her tired, hard eyes that looked too old for her softened as she studied Blue. "So, what's next?"

"Milkshakes." Blue said, the corner of her mouth quirking up into a a small smile. "Makayla's instant cheer up solution. There's a Sonic just a little ways away, and then I've got a surprise stop."
Ava's eyebrows arched. "Oh?"
"Yup. Milkshakes, and a mystery stop." Blue said, nodding. "Anywhere you need t' stop?"
"Nope," Ava sighed, leaning back against the seat.
"A'ight." Blue nodded, and they lapsed into a comfortable silence as she drove.
Ava sighed. She couldn't stop thinking about their kiss. And how much she wanted to do it again.
I really shouldn't want to kiss her as bad as I do. Blue's cheeks warmed a tad at her own thought process, and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth, trying to think about anything else.
As much as Ava loved car rides, she hated silence. "Penny for your thoughts?" she blurted.
"Put it in the cupholder and we'll see." The words slipped from Blue's mouth before she could stop them. "I mean-uh, inside joke, sorry. I'm not…I was thinking about earlier."
Ava arched an eyebrow. "You gotta be more specific, honey. A lot of things happened 'earlier'. I was born 'earlier.'"
Blue's cheeks reddened, and she kept her gaze focused ahead. "Er-in the car. The-the kiss. I was thinking about that."
"What about it?" Ava asked nonchalantly, like she hadn't been thinking of it too…
"All of it?" Blue shrugged a shoulder, once again looking slightly confused. "An'…how I felt about it. I know how I feel, I mean, but at the same time…I'm confused."
"Confused about what?" she asked, looking over at Blue.
Blue made a nonverbal noise of confusion, shrugging her shoulders. "If I knew, I probably wouldn't be confused."
Ava smoothed her hair and pressed her lips together. "That's true."
Blue flickered a glance over at Ava, her grip on the steering wheel tightening. "But…I do think I might have a way t' figure it out."
"Oh?" Ava looked over at Blue curiously.
Blue rubbed the back of her neck as she pulled into the drive in, nodding. "Maybe doin' it again is the best way t' figure it out." She said quietly, before rolling down her window to order. "What d'you want? Flavor? Any other food?"
Ava grinned. "Chocolate, and nah, I'm good."
Blue placed the order before rolling the window most of the way back up, pulling her wallet from her back pocket. She riffled around, pulling out a twenty and tucking her wallet back away.
Ava reached out and touched Blue's wrist. "I can do it," she said quietly. "This is the least I can do for you putting up with my shit all morning."
Blue looked down at Ava's hand, then up at her. A lopsided smile made it's home on her lips as she met Ava's eyes. "Your shit's been eventful. Ten times better than my world hist quiz I had."
She grinned and shook her head. "Seriously though. Milkshakes are on me."
"Nope. I'm paying, and there ain't nothin' you can do t' change that." She decided, sticking her tongue out.
Ava smirked and leaned closer. "Isn't there?"
Blue blinked, her cheeks reddening. "I-I-…no? N-nothing."
Ava inched forward even more. "Really?~"
Blue's inhaled sharply, her eyes widening. "U-um…"
