"Upstairs, to the right. And the name's Milo," he responded, rubbing the growing red mark on his forehead where he hit the bar.
"That wasn't a very smart idea," the robot pointed out unhelpfully, receiving a growl in response
It's literally a remake of Passengers (Closed!)(O/O)
"Thank you," She called, nodding even though he couldn't see her, "Upstairs to the right," She mumbled, following his directions until she found him. "My name's Anneliese," She said, admiring the space before walking over to him and what looked like another person, standing a few feet away from them.
"Robot," Milo said, jutting a finger at the barman, who just waved.
"You two shouldn't b-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, we under-fucking-stand," Milo growled, that phrase becoming increasingly more annoying each time it said it.
She smiled and waved to the barman, "Well, 'robot' should get a name," She decided, dismissing the comment about them being awake for whatever reason, "Something cool..and sort of robot like, but not completely."
"Mark," was what Milo offered.
"Ooo, I quite like that," Mark said with a smile that was distinctly not human.
"Then Mark it is," Anneliese leaned against the bar and looked down at it, debating whether she should talk to Milo or try to order a drink from Mark the robot bartender.
"And why can't I get a drink again, Mark?" Milo asked again.
"Your body is still recovering from your cryosleep, Milo. You will throw up for at least two days if I give you a drink."
"So what? That's the sign of a really good party back on Earth."
Mark gave Milo the robotic stank eye.
She laughed and nodded, looking between the two of them, "Could we come to a compromise Mark? Me and Milo will split a drink, then if we're feeling alright we can split another." Her logic probably wasn't going to make it past the mind of a robot but she was at least trying to get a drink for herself and Milo.
Mark shook his head. "No can do."
Milo shook his head, rubbing his face in frustration. "There's no real point, Anne." He'd already given her a nickname.
The nickname surprised her but she didn't comment on it, actually liking it, "If he won't let us get a drink then we should just take one." She suggested, a small smile on her face.
He shook his head. "Neither of us have recovered enough. Booze can wait 'til tomorrow, I guess."
"You two shouldn't be here," Mark pointed out once again.
"We know that Mark," She said, nodding at what Milo was saying, "If I can't drink then maybe I'll go explore some more. I already found the main controls, but it had some weird keypad thing next to it and I couldn't get it open."
He seemed to hesitate for a moment, rubbing his arms awkwardly.
"….Can I come with? I really don't wanna be alone right now."
She smiled and shrugged, "I don't see why not, we are the only two passengers that are awake and I don't think Mark here would mind," She looked at the robot and took a step away from the bar, hoping that her muscles were going to continue to listen to her so she wouldn't collapse or her knees wouldn't buckle.
He managed to get to his feet, groaning slightly. "I wanna find the dorms, get a nice warm bed, and sleep for 90 more years. Sadly, only two of those seem possible."
Milo stumbled when he tried to take a step, catching himself on the palms of his hands before his face once again greeted the metal floor. "Fuck."
Anneliese registered what was happening after his face had hit the floor and she walked to him, her eyes wide, "You alright?" She asked, holding out a hand to help him up.
He gladly took the hand, nearly pulling her to the floor with him as he got to his feet.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he mumbled, rubbing his nose and cringing.
She nodded and smiled lightly, "Don't hurt yourself anymore," She looked around and then nodded again, this time to herself. "Well then, if that's done, let's go explore."
"Can't promise it is, but yeah." He flashed a goofy smile as he continued to rub his nose.
"Sounds good," She said, chuckling lightly before starting to walk around, looking for anything new or cool to look at.
There were two halls they had to choose from, one with a holographic sign that said "Dorms," or a similar sign that said "Recreation." Milo read both aloud and looked over at Anne to see what she wanted.
She thought for a moment and then suggested, "Maybe we can check out the recreation first? Then the dorms?" She looked over at Milo before heading down the recreation hallway, a light bounce in her step.
"I have no clue how you've recovered so quick," he said, shaking his head as he walked after her.
"I have no clue how you've recovered so quick," he said, shaking his head as he walked after her. "I'm still struggling to keep my fucking balance."
She laughed lightly, only glancing back at him for a moment, "Trust me, it's taking all of my willpower and focus not to let my knees buckle or make a fool of myself."
"If you fall, I promise to only laugh for a little bit before helping you up," he said with a smile. "And I'll only crack….hm….4 jokes."
"That make me feel so much better," She laughed again and smiled, "Lets see…if you fall again..I'm going to crack at very least…three jokes before I help you up, and then maybe one more just for added effect."
"Only 3? Disappointing." He managed to catch up to her, now only walking with a small limp. "I expected more."
She glanced at him and raised an eyebrow, still smiling, "Would five make you feel better? Maybe another one just to be safe?" She took a few more steps before one of her legs almost gave out, causing her to stumble forward before she caught herself and continued walking, clearing her throat and pretending like it didn't happen.
"That seems worthy of a joke, doesn't it?" He asked, grinning.
