Lucien nodded a little. "That doesn't excuse what he said, I know, but…" He sighed softly, and kissed the top of Aki's head.

Aki nods a little, shutting his eyes tightly to stem the tears. He felt like everything around him was crashing, Lucien his only foundation. He had lost everything to the plague. Now he was here, and he knew he would be nothing more then a consort in the Kings eyes.
Lucien held him tightly. "I'm not marrying a woman." He said firmly. "Never. I…" He didn't want that. He wanted to marry…marry Aki, if he could. Even if they hadn't known each other that long, he still cared for the other male more than he had ever cared for anyone else.
Aki trembled a little. "What if you have to… Unless…" His mind started running. If would be risky, and possibly dangerous but… He knew Lucien would try and stop him if he knew. "Never mind…" He mumbles. "But what if someone better comes along… I'm not that interesting…" He says hesitantly.
"Yes you are." Lucien replied. He kissed the top of Aki's head. "You're plenty interesting. And I don't think anyone better could ever come along."
Aki smiled a little at that. He leaned into the kisses. "Are you sure the king won't be mad for you leaving the party?" He asks quietly.
"Screw him." Lucien replied. "If he's mad…I don't really care." He shook his head.
Aki nods before listening to Luciens heartbeat. He felt so tired. But he was happy like this, his eyes shutting peacefully. "I love you." He whispers.
"I love you too." Lucien replied softly, holding Aki close. "Do you want to go to bed now?"
Aki nods slowly, his eyes slowly opening. "Yeah… If that's okay…" He mumbles.
Lucien nodded. "Of course." He picked Aki up and carried him back into the palace, heading back to his room.
Aki leaned into the other, kissing his cheek sweetly. He wrapped his arms around Luciens neck, shutting his eyes and letting out a soft sigh.
Lucien held Aki close, carrying him back to his room and setting the other male down on the bed. "I'm going to put my pajamas on." he said softly, pressing a kiss to Aki's forehead.
Aki nods and smiles a little bit. He slowly sat up and ran a hand through his hair. He changed out of his clothes and into more comfortable ones before falling back into the bed.
Lucien changed into his pajamas and slid into the bed beside Aki, pulling him close with one arm. "I love you." he said softly, pressing a gentle kiss to Aki's cheek.
Aki instantly curled into Lucien, his eyes shutting. "I love you too." He whispers, a small smile on his lips. "Rest well." He mumbles.
Lucien smiled a little. "You too." He said softly, pulling the blankets over them and closing his eyes to sleep.

Aki woke up in the middle of the night. His eyes narrow in the dark before he checks on Lucien, making sure he's asleep. He quietly slipped out of bed, his footsteps silent as he exits the room. He made sure he had everything before heading to Rene's grave. He took a shuddering breath, setting up the ritual before drawing out his arcana. He slipped the Devil card out and pricked his finger before smearing the blood on the card.
Lucien was asleep, and remained so when Aki left. He shifted a little, rolling onto his side.
