The guard waited at the door, and gave a sharp nod. "Of course."
Lucien sighed, and dug in his pocket, pulling out some money, extending it to Aki. "For all the trouble. And for helping me out." He said with a small smile.
It's not in the Cards (O/O)
Aki looked at the money before shaking his head and smiling. "All of it was for free." He says happily. He scurries off to his room to quickly pack before hurrying back. He smiled warmly. "Ready to go."
Lucien nodded, and put the money away. "Alright. Let me know if you need anything." He replied.
The guard began walking.
Aki nods before walking behind the guard and the prince, locking up the shop and whispering a protection spell before hurrying after them. He smiles warmly at Lucien.
Lucien smiled back. His green eyes were bright and gentle.
The guard sighed, and continued walking. "Keep up, you two." He said.
Aki looked down, his tail swaying back and forth as he walked. He fiddled with a small ring on his finger before looking up and shouldering his bag again.
Lucien sighed, rolling his eyes. "Life doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, you know." He replied.
The guard shook his head slightly.
Aki looks over at Lucien. "What do you mean?" He asks curiously, his ear flickering a little bit.
"Talking to the guard. He's always cranky." He replied with a grin.
"Ohhhh." He chuckles as his ears perk happily. He seemed to be in a good mood. It was probably because he rarely ever left the shop.
Lucien smiled at him, and raked a hand through his hair.
The guard sighed, and kept walking.
Aki walked and gasped when the palace came into sight. "It's beautiful…" he whispers quietly.
Lucien glanced at him with a small smile. Yeah, beautiful. A gilded cage. He thought wryly, but didn't say anything about it.
Aki bounces up and down. He had never been to the palace, and he had always wanted to visit.
Lucien glanced at him again, smiling. "Excited?" He asked softly as the guard led them through the gates.
"Very much so. Thank you for letting me come to the palace." He says gratefully. He bows as he looked around happily.
Lucien smiled at him. "Yeah, of course." He replied. He narrowed his eyes as they entered the throne room, crossing his arms.
He enters slowly and smiles at the other before looking around the throne room curiously.
(did you want to be the king, or me?)
The guard bowed, and explained what had happened.
Lucien tugged on the cloak slightly, looking straight ahead.
(If you could please.)
Aki oohed at the palace around him before starting and bowing. "My lord." he says softly.
(alrighty)
The king frowned slightly at the news, his eyes traveling over Lucien, then to Aki. "And who might you be?" He asked slowly.
Lucien was silent.
Aki cleared his throat. "I am the apprentice of my master, Zephyr. He was unavailable to give your son the reading. I did it for my master. He is on a very important mission in the spirit realm, so I came to speak in his place."
Reading? Lucien wondered, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"I see." The king replied. "Lucien, we will speak of this escapade of yours later. For now, there are bigger matters."
Aki bows faintly before shifting under the kings gaze. It was so intense. He sighed softly and looked around the castle in awe.
The king stood. "Come with me." He gestured with a hand, leading them into a more private room so they could speak.
Aki follows carefully, his eyes wide as he looks around. He had never been to such a large place before. It was breathtaking.
(what exactly do you want to happen now?)
The king sat down. "So. I believe some explanations are in order."
Lucien sat down as well, quiet.
(Hm. Perhaps he explains the cards, and there's some stuff that happen? Maybe the king is assassinated or something?)
(alright sounds good. Assassination seems a bit extreme, but if you wanna do that, then okay!)
(I mean, there was murder planned anyways.)
