“I’m guessing you don’t like science?” She asked smiling slightly. Her pencil tapping the paper slightly.

"No," Lotus scowled a little and sighed as they rubbed at their face before forcing themselves to stop, "I don't. I just suck at it too."
“I bet you’re not that bad,” she says. Her pencil continued to tap.
"I once caused a frog, which I was supposed to dissect, to spontaneously catch on fire" Lotus deadpanned now looking at Cat's pencil, "Tell me again how I'm not bad at science?"
Cat laughed. “How? Just how?” She asked not able to stop laughing.
Lotus shrugged as they seemed to grow frustrated at the thought, "I don't know! It just happened despite everything!"
Cat slowly stopped laughing. “I kind of like science. Most of it seems pointless but I like to do labs.”
"Yeah, well you don't have bad luck like I do," Lot responded with a long sigh.
“Well you’re good at other things! I’ve always been really bad with computers,” she said.
"I mean, you're also really good at art," Lotus countered her.
She shrugged. “I’m not that good. Especially lately. I couldn’t practice that much Before a few weeks ago.”
"Why was that?" Lot asked most likely too curious for their own good, "Moving?"
“Yeah plus just didn’t have much time,” she said. “What kind of marks transfer to you? Is it just like ink or do injuries and like dirt transfer too?” She la wondering this for awhile.
"Just ink," Lotus responded. They were honestly glad injuries didn't transfer over, because younger them did not need more bruises than they had, "Luckily."
“Yeah your lucky I’m pretty clumsy especially when I was younger,” She said laughing slightly. Inside she was just relieved.
"So, so was I," Lotus said the slight lie feeling like lead on their tongue. They didn't want to tell more than they needed to.
Cat could tell something was off. A wave of concern hit her but she tried not to show it. “Anyway do you want to hang out for a little after school?”
"I can do that," Lot nodded as they checked their phone for the time. It was strange not going to the computer lab, but they thought it would be rude if they left the table, "How about you?"
“Yeah sure. Do you want to meet in the computer lab?” She asked standing up to throw away her trash. Lunch should be ending soon.
"Yeah," Lot nodded with a little smile. They put their phone in their pocket and stood up from the table.
Cat threw away her trash. She waved goodbye before leaving to go to her next class. She actually did nap halfway through this class.

Lot went to their next class feeling the most calm in a while. They managed to get some freelance work done when not helping the students out.

After school cat went to the computer lab. She got in a little trouble in Spanish but she talked her way out of it. The fact that she spoke really good Spanish for a Spanish 1 class definitely helped.
Lotus walked to the computer lab after school. There last few periods went by slowly and they were looking forward to it a little. They stepped into the lab looking for Cat.
Cat was sitting at a computer close to He back. She was on her phone waiting for Lotus. When she looked up and saw her she waved.
Lot smiled and headed over not looling directly at Cat. They sat down next to Cat, "Hey."
“Hey,” She said back smiling and turning to her. “How where your last few classes?”
"They were fine," Lotus responded relaxing in tbe chair, "What about yours?"
“Boring I fell asleep during spanish,” she admits putting down her phone. The computer in front of her was off.
"Really?" Lot looked over at Cat, "I would have thought learning another language wouldn't be boring."
