Karkota had opened his mouth to say more. Or course just to be an annoyance. He wasn't going to give up any secrets, at least not easily.
But when the knife came down he snapped his mouth shut, looking up at the girl in pure terror.
Karkota let out a shaky breath. play it safe, he told himself, but was there really anyway to play this situation safely? Either way he lost something, a finger or his life, or even his family.

"Do. We. Have. An agreement?" Tessa asked, voice low as she leaned close. She hoped the demonstration did the trick. She wasn't in the mood to be bloodthirsty today. All she wanted to do was to snuggle up in a blanket and pillow fortress and binge-watch the Harry Potter movies.
"maikaʻi, fine." He said, his voice shaky. Karkota wanted to curse at himself. He felt weak for giving in so easily. But its not like he'd even be taught what to do in these situations. 'kidnapoing 101' what a class that'd have been, a useful one.

She grinned and leaned back, retrieving her knife and sheathing both. "Good. Was that so hard?"
Tessa was about to leave when the door opened, revealing one of the men that had kidnapped Karkota. "Theresa. Not done yet."
Her face fell. "What."
The man jerked his chin at Karkota. "Watch him. Make sure no trouble." His Italian accent was heavy and his English was slightly broken.
"What!? I'm not some babysitter!" She then proceeded to go on a rapid-fire Italian hissy fit. The man didn't look amused.
Karkota was glad, heck over joyed when Tessa looked about ready to leave. He wouldn't have minded being alone, especially after she'd scared him half to death.
But when someone stopped her, telling her to watch him, he could of sweared he died a little inside.
"Of great, yeah um, what am I gonna do? Escape? Don't ya think that'd be, oh yeah, a bit hard?" He hoped his sarcasm didn't automatically get him killed. In fact he hoped it convinced them to leave him alone, so he could in fact attempt escape.

The man glared at Karkota before turning his attention back to a silent but still fuming Tessa. "You watch at you place. No argue."
Now she was deathly calm as she spoke. "It's my house. You can't make me bring some prisoner into my home and expect me to look over his shoulder at all times. IN MY HOUSE." The man didn't budge. Her fists clenched, suppressing the urge to grab the nearest thing and chuck it at his head. Don't grab the knives. If anything, grab the lamp. Lamp. Not knives. Lamp.
(I keep reading this in a Russian accent and Idk why. )
Yes most deffently, he felt his soul deflate. Karkota groaned and sunck in his chair, wishing he'd have been smarter earlier.
"Yes, exactly its her house! I don't wanna go."
Why didn't Karkota know how to shut up? "Besides this rooms great! I've already named a cockroach!" He pulled at his restraints as he spoke. Hopping he'd somehow get free. Even if it was chain. How someone to brake that?
group
(Lmao. Now you have me doing it)
Tessa turned her glare on Karkota. Not helping! she seemed to say. She then whirled on the man. "Screw you, Romeo. Screw you." She stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her as she left.
The man, revealed to be named Romeo, came over to Karkota and started to undo his chains. He clamped his hands over the boy's arm to prevent him from running. "Hope you like new home," he said sarcastically. "And new roommate."
Karkota cursed under his breath, he'd really been hoping for a chance. "No, no. I'm not gonna live with that woman. She's gonna kill me." He tried to pull away. Practically looking like a child trying to get away from an angry parent.
Karkota was strong, playing all the sports he did growing up had helped with that, but he wasn't that strong. Especially compared to this man- Romeo.

Romeo pulled out some handcuffs and locked them over Karkota's wrists. "Come." He dragged the boy through a different door from the one Tessa went through. He wound through empty halls until they came to a garage.
Tessa was already in one of the limos, furiously texting someone while a man in about his early 20s talked to her like they were best buds–and like she wasn't in a sour mood. "C'mon, Hunt. It'll be fun."
"Babysitting isn't fun. I have to drag him along to my freaking day job!" She looked like she was about to throw her phone, but shook her head and thought better of it. "Diego, I'm not in the mood."
He snickered and looked over at the two approaching. "Ciao. I take it this is your new roommate?" Tessa grumbled something that was best left unrepeated.
He groaned at the handcuffs, "are those really nescacery?" And of course he groaned even more at the winding and twisting of the halls. What was he gonna do? Run away with out knowing his surroundings?
"More like prisoner." Karkota added under his breath, not to happy with the whole situation. He ranted in his native language, mainly about how stupid he'd been. He'd yet to let that go, and most likely wouldn't for a very long time.
group
Diego chuckled and ruffled Tessa's hair. "Good luck. Do try to keep from killing him within the hour." She growled at him. He just laughed and sauntered away.
Romeo nudged Karkota towards the car. Tessa slid over as far as she could, looking out the window and still looking furious.
"I would rather not get in the car." He said with a smile, pushing back trying to get away. "She's not friendly. Besides, ever hear of human rights? Those are great aren't they? Speaking of which you should let me go." Karkota continued trying to prove his point.
group
Romeo wasn't having it. He practically shoved Karkota down and into the car. Tessa continued texting, fingers flying over the screen.
"So, who are you texting?" Karkota glared at Romeo, before actually getting comfortable in his seat. He decided to at least for now not be to annoying. After all, they could still kill him.
group
"No one you know." She sighed and put away her phone. The hidden driver started the limo and pulled out of the garage, starting to head over to Tessa's place.
Why her? Why couldn't he just be stuck in the same room as before until they got what they wanted?
Because you're scary and they're using that against him.
Shut up brain.
Karkota nodded his head, making his dark brown hair wiggle out of place. He quickly fixed it with his cuffed hands. Making a show of them rattling.
"What exactly do they want from me?" His eyes narrowed and many personality from before gone. Now he seemed more like a bussnes man. At last as much of a bussnes man a 19 year old boy could seem like. Karkota figured if he wanted answers he'd might as well stop acting childish.
group
"You expect me to know?" Tessa snapped. She was not in a good mood. Lack of sleep. Someone had stolen her Doritos. And now she had to babysit.
What a day.
"Well they did send me with you after all. I'd assume they'd have told you?" Karkota looked to her before the door.
what are the chances of death? he thought to himself, consenplatting stunt rolling out of the car. Not that, that'd be smart. But hey, he was willing to try anything once.
group
"A weapon doesn't ask questions, nor does it need to know anything but where to hit," she said blankly. "And try to jump, and we'll see what kills you first–me or the road."
Karkota raised his hands in defeat, a light smile coming to his lips. Yes he was still freakiled out, who wouldn't have? But that didn't nescacerly mean he was ready to do whatever he was told. "I think I'd take my chances with the road. Its, ʻuʻuku ka makaʻu." Then quickly realising she probably didn't under stand him, "less scary."
group
Tessa scrunched her brows together. "You're Hawaiian?" She recognized the words, since her brother liked to try his 'Hawaiian charm' on her, as he called it. She called it his 'pretty little lies'.
She shook her head. "Fine. Do what you want. I'll still find you and flay you alive."
A shocked expression took over karkota's face. He wasn't used to people guessing so quickly. "Yeah actually, I am."
Then when she said she'd flay him alive, he quickly let go of any idea of jumping outta a moving car. Besides that he probably would die if he did jump out of said car.
group
She fell silent, leaning on the car door and looking out the window. She wasn't completely calm–she was still hella pissed–but a calm-ish appearance settled over her naturally sharp features as she watched the world go by. Her fingers tapped on the car seat, following the beat of a song she had stuck in her head.
He watched her carefully for a few more seconds, before also looking out the window.
He watched the trees they past, along with anything else. Cars, people, anything to keep his mind busy really.
group
Tessa noticed where the driver was taking them and had a mini panic attack. She leaned forward and knocked on the black window separating them from the driver. The window went down. "Skip the studio, just take us straight to my house."
"But miss–"
"Skip. It. I took off work today."
The driver nodded and put the window back up.
Tessa slumped back with a sigh.
Karkota raised an eyebrow at how quickly she went from being calm to whatever that was. "Studio?" He asked her, hoping for at least some kind of answer. Even if he knew the chances where slim.
group
"My day job. And that's all you're getting out of me." She refused to look at Karkota. That was a close call. Him living with her was bad enough. Him seeing her teach a dance class was off the table.
"Oooh, so you a singer?" He continued to push the subject even after what she'd said. At this point he could care less if she threated to kill him. If they'd wanted him dead they'd have done it back when they first kidnapped him. So now he figured he'd at least annoy her a little.
group
"Yes and no," she said curtly, still not looking at him. Why was she correcting him? He was a prisoner she was forced to babysit. He didn't deserve to know anything about her. "The studio I work at doesn't deal with singing." And yet she was still talking. Wtf?
