Pax meowed and raised his arms too. M rolled his eyes and turned the corner to th steps.

"Bye bye.." She waved sadly. "Wow he really hates me." Tyler said, a little surprised.

That’s why first impressions matter, Tyler. Or apologies.

M walked up to his room, nudged open the door and shut it. Pax popped back into his human form, looking up at M.
“Are you okay, M?”

Damn.

"Yeah he does." North said sighing a little. Lila flopped down on Tyler's chest, missing Pax.

M set Pax down. “Get some clothes on. I’m tired.”
Pax threw on a pair of pants and a comfy shirt and flopped down in the bed. “You didn’t answer my question,” Pax pressed as M changed into his PJs.

"C'mon Lila, bedtime." Tyler said, picking her up and taking her upstairs. "I'll be there in a second." North said after him, standing up.

M pushed a shirt over his head, fluffing up his hair, and sat into the bed with a sigh.
“I guess I am. Getting old.” He laid down with a faint sigh through his nose as his back retaliated.

North walked up the stairs, glancing back at M's room for a second before walking into her own and helping put Lila to bed.

Pax put a hand on M’s chest and gave him a worried look. “You’re not going to-“
“Of course not.” M put a hand on his husband’s, looking at him. “I’ll be fine.”

North woke to find Lila fast asleep next to her and Tyler was already awake. She sighed and flopped back down, staring at the ceiling.

M’s not dying. He’s gettin old.

Pax nudged awake M and the pair went downstairs to make breakfast. M still looked very tired, so Pax sent him back upstairs to bed. M went, but reluctantly. M despised sleeping alone.

Still. It's sad.

Tyler walked out of the bathroom and smiled at North. "Morning." He whispered, walking over and kissing her on the forehead.

M laid down in the soft bed with a faint groan. It was probably still cold, since he was trying to get into a seasonal groove. Not only that but put it in winter yesterday for Lila. And played outside with them. That’s probably why his back was aching, right?

Poor M.

Lila stirred and blinked sleepily. Tyler sat down on the bed and picked up Lila. “You hungry sweetie?” She nodded and laid her head on his shoulder. “Oh I can-“ North started. “No it’s fine, I got it.” He said, smiling. North laid back down as Tyler stood up. “Thank you. I love you.”

M shifted, trying to shake off the stiffness. The tiredness. The aches in his muscles. Well, he didn't have a lot of muscle, but we know what he means. He rested his head on the pillow and his neck twinged. He twitched in pain and shut his eyes.

“Love you too.” He smiled, walking downstairs with Lila. “Oh hey Pax.” He said, Lila recognizing him and meowing quietly.

Pax glanced over and smiled a bit. Odd for Pax. He usually beamed. “Hey guys.” He looked down at Lila and let out a choked meow.

Tyler noticed his unusual behavior but decided not to ask. M would probably murder him for it. Lila giggled a little and hid her face back in Tyler’s shoulder.

Pax turned back around and sniffled over his cutting board. He was cutting… bananas.

“You okay Pax?” Tyler asked, slightly more concerned.

Pax cleared his throat and nodded, mixing in the ‘nanas in a pancake mix he and M had started.

“Sad..” Lila reached out and touched his arm gently.

Pax looked down at her and smiled a watery smile. “I’m okay, Lila.”

She continued to look sadly up and him but leaned down and kissed his shoulder gently. “Feel better.”

Pax chuckled gently at her attempt of a kiss. “I’m feeling better already.”

“Why sad?” She asked, smiling a little at his comment.

He booped her nose gently, smiling a watery smile. “It’s not important, my dear.”

“Okay..” She said quietly, leaning back into Tyler.
