M blinked at the child, barely able to shift out to help her up onto the bed. He hoped she didn’t gain a burst of energy and crush him under her.
“M..” She murmured, laying down and resting her head on his chest.
M set his head down with a feeble sigh. He half-closed his eyes, his body relaxing slowly.
Lila sighed happily and closed her eyes. “Do you want me to take her M?” North asked quietly.
M shook his head slowly. “As long as she doesn’t crush me, she’ll be fine.”
North laughed a little. "You'll have to wait a couple years until that happens."
M hummed softly. “You’d be surprised with how easily she could.”
"Pax is worried about you M, so am I. You keep saying you're fine..but are you?"
M shut his droopy eyes. “I am fine. Tell Pax not to worry.”
"I did. You can't just stop worrying about someone you love."
M sighed softly. “The cold is just messing with me. I’ll be back on my feet eventually.”
North shook her head a little. "Call if you want me to come get Lila." She said, walking towards the door.
M grunted in response and didn’t say anything else. He was comfortable enough with a smol child on his chest.
Lila stirred slightly and set her small hand on M's, holding onto it.
M grunted faintly when she stirred. That movement hurt his chest slightly. His hand wrapped around her small one slowly, enclosing it between his skinny fingers.
North watched them for another second then left the room, closing the door quietly behind her. He'll be fine…
