"Ah, so M hasn't enlightened you," Zackary growled bitterly and narrowed his eyes into slits.

"No. He hasn't."

"Well, it so happens that he's not as perfect as he seems." Zackary put his hand in his jean's pocket and pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. He shook the box gently before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.

"And you wonder why you cough so much." North muttered.

Zackary puffed it away from her and shook his head. "I've been alive for a while. Cigarettes don't physically affect me. Anyway, there's no one alive to care about me anymore, so I just started smoking again. Anywho, what was the question?"

North frowned, "You were going to enlighten I assume, as M hasn't."

Zackary grunted. "Well, M's a bad person. I know that's blunt, but it's damn true. He's a racist and a lying bastard, and I'm rather surprised that you haven't picked that up." Expect that from Xanthe's kid. Zackary chuckled gently to himself.

"Well I like him enough. Why shouldn't I?" (can she do that thought communication thing with M here?)

(Not quite. M's a whole other dimension away. You tell me. xD no she can't)

"Probably because he likes you back. You're not a demon, after all." Zackary puffed his cigarette again and flexed his jaw. His white, sharp teeth glinted considerably bright in the setting.

North smirked. "Well that's a relief."

"Yes, it is." Zackary glared at her. "How would you like to be one of the last demons alive?"

"Oh..sorry.."

Zackary flicked some access ash off of the end of his cigarette and shrugged. "It's fine. I got myself into this mess by messing with M in the first place. We never really liked each other." He puffed his cigarette.

"What'd you do?" She asked, wondering why M never mentioned Zackary.

"Well, like I said, M was a racist, specifically towards demons of my breed. Dark Demons (my breed) are known for being wild, crazy and sex-addicted animals." Zackary took a puff; he looked quite the opposite of crazy and sex-addicted.

"I can't believe he never told me any of this.." She said quietly to herself.

"You shouldn't have expected it. If it wasn't related to Xanthe, he wouldn't have mentioned it. Xanthe is a rarer, better breed than I am." He rolled his eyes and scowled at a leaf as if spun to the ground.

"Just because their dead doesn't mean you can talk shit about them."

"No, M's told me that." Zackary glanced at her. "I would… never say anything about Xanthe like that. M is a disrespectful bastard and I hated every fiber of his being." He crushed the butt of his cigarette under his foot and crunched it furiously. "I'd try to kill him again if I had the chance."

North looked horrified up at Zackary. "That was you?"

"No. I only tried to kill M but he survived. Stupid Neo." Zackary shook his head. "I wouldn't have killed Xanthe, trust me. She'd've killed me first." He chuckled weakly.

(wait so when M was covered in blood and his chest had all those cuts that was or wasn't zack?)
