Miraculous Ladybug - One-on-one (CLOSED)

Nathalie shook her head. Her own health was the least of her concerns right now. "Are you okay?" she asked, looking him over.

"I'll be..fine." he tried to stand "just give me a minute."

She looped her arm underneath his shoulders to help him stand. "Did you come as Hawkmoth?" she asked quietly in his ear.

"Would you believe me if I told you otherwise?" He said with a tight smile

"Probably not," she said, returning his smile. "We should leave," she suggested.

(Beep)

He nodded and stood with her help "how did you get here?" he asked as they walked to the car

"I don't know. The last thing I remember…" She struggled to recall what had happened. "I dropped Adrien off at school… and I turned to go back to the car and someone was standing there. That's it."

"Hm, we'll make sure that doesn't happen again," he reassured her "mind driving?"

"Not at all, si-" She bit her lip and cursed herself. "Gabriel."

he smiled "you sure? we can wait for our heads to clear up if you want."

"What if he wakes up?" she asked, looking back at the building with a fleeting glance.

"hm, your right. Get in the car, I'll drive," he said to her as he got into the drivers seat

She sighed. "Sir, please. Let me drive. You're clearly less than alright."

"I can say the same about you." He obliged and got out of the drivers seat

She pressed her lips together and got into the car. Her head did feel a little strange still, but it was nothing that she couldn't suppress. "I'm fine."

He opened the door for her and got in the passenger seat "still don't believe you, but if you insist."

Nathalie started the car. "Then it is completely fair to say that I don't believe you as well."

"What that I came as Hawkmoth?" he asked

"That you didn't," she replied, pulling out and quickly leaving eyeshot of the building.

"hm maybe your right maybe your wrong" he said with a slight smile

"I think I know which one I am," she said, stopping the car at a red light and using the opportunity to look over at him.

He smiled and looked away taking a breath before turning back "yes, I did come as Hawkmoth, it was the only way to ensure that you got out of there. And the only way to make sure Demitri doesnt come after my family again. He'll be looking for Hawkmoth, not Gabriel Agrest." He stated waiting for her reaction

Nathalie shook her head. "No, I… I don't think that it's going to work like that."

(mind bumping watergirl and fireboy? I can't find it for some reason.)
"It'll keep him occupied for a bit until I find a way to get him off my trail. Did he say anything about wanting something?" He asked, trying to grasp any details that would help

Nathalie didn't want to worry him, but she eventually let the words spill from her lips. "He wants to overthrow you. And he wanted me so that you would give him whatever he wanted for my freedom." The light turned green and she focused again on driving. "I… I'm sorry for the inconvenience," she said quietly.

It made sense, using her as leverage to get him to surrender his life's work. He smiled in disgust and leaned back in the seat "clever clever jerk." He looked at Natalie "well it didn't work, and don't ever think of anything I choose to do for you as an inconvenience, ever." He looked forward in silence "I'd do anything for you and Adrien, including giving away my company" he said almost hoping she didn't hear him

Nathalie briefly looked over at him in horror. "No. Not for me." She looked back at the road as quickly as she'd looked away. "Don't say that. Please. I couldn't live with myself if I knew you'd given everything away for me. I'm not worth it, sir – Gabriel."

"and I couldn't live with myself if I didn't give everything I have for you. None of this means anything to me without you, why do you think Demitri too you and not Adrien? And I'm not saying I wouldn't give anything and everything for my son, because I would. But with you it's somehow different." He admitted

Another red light. They were only several blocks from home. She looked at him again. "Different… how?"
