It was Thursday, the day before the exam. Edith stayed after school hours at the library, trying to cram information in her mind. She hated being a slow learner. No matter how hard she tried, it would take her forever to learn something, and way longer to actually remember it for a lengthened period of time. Many others seemed to have the same idea, so the room was depressingly cramped, with all the quiet rooms taken. As the hours passed though, people started leaving one by one. Soon, she found herself one of the last few still in the now spacious room.
The hours ticked by, and she finished by 9 at night, all alone in the dark room. She closed the lamp connected to the desk, the light emitted from it closing. Before she picked up her items, she realized that one other lamp in the room was still open. And there she was, thinking that she was the last person. She hastily grabbed her items and walked over to the figure, wanting to give a push of luck to him/her.
o/o Demon’s Contract
Zack was relaxing in a room with a book for his literature class at one of the round tables near the librarian's desk. He sat there and talked with the nice little lady, occasionally flashing a smile to his teacher-friend when she seemed to get stressed or overwhelmed. He really liked the librarian, whose name was Ms. Rae. She was so cute and nice, it made Zack just wanna pick her up and squish her like a little ball. He was helping her neaten up when he was approached, turning to whomever it was in the dark.
"Hello?" He asked/said, squinting at her in the dark.
As Edith neared the desk, she realized there was actually two people, the school librarian and- Zack? She suppressed a growl as the young lady inched closer to him, who was compiling a stack of papers. She walked over, pasting a sweet smile on her face and helped him stack the papers, quickly handing it over to the librarian. She waved goodbye and got her away from him as soon as possible.
Zack moved away with a confused expression visible on his face. He had been doing fine with the neatening up. When it got passed to little Rae, Zack hurried over to help as she nearly tumbled over. Zack didn't wave back, for he was too busy trying to find a place in Rae's office to put the papers.

Edith let out a low groan. Why must he be constantly surrounded by girls all the time. And always better, and most likely more successful ones? It was getting on her nerves. She slammed the door to the library shut and stomped out to get some air, fuming. It was a rare sight to see her like this, she almost never lost control of her temper, but around him.. Edith smoothed her hair and took deep breaths, calming herself.
Zack gave the little librarian a few more minutes of his time before he walked out with a little kiss on his cheek, five bucks in his pocket, and his bag. He walked by Edith, not seeing her in the darkness of outside. He could not see very well in the dark, as it is told by his squinting eyes as he barely dodged out of the way of a tree.
Edith gave herself a few minutes of descision, and lept up to her feet, chasing after Zack. "Wait!" She cried, jogging until she was next to him. She allowed herself a few breaths before starting to speak. "Um, I was wondering… Do you want to make a contract with me?" She said it calmy, and she silently congratulated herself for being so formal. So there was a first time for these kind of things after all.
Zack lept nearly out of his skin and whipped around, his whole body tensed and his mismatched gray eyes wide.
"Wh-what? A Contract? All mighty above you scared me!" Zack said with a laugh. "But, yeah, sure I guess." He rubbed at one of his arms, squinting at the panting woman.
(Argh me and my slow replies)
Edith flushed unwillingly, and then quickly rearrange her composure and coughed, ruffling her hair.
"Ah, sorry for scaring you. I just wanted to talk to you. Alone, I mean." She mumbled.
"But anyway, about the contract. I don't want to drag it out, I just want all those girls away from you!" She raised her voice a bit toward the end. She secretly apologized for being so straightforward, but this was already taking too much courage and she was too scared to let go of this chance.
"Get them away, and I'll do anything. Anything, I swear." Her voice broke at the end, an unsurety coloring her face. She turned, trying to hide her face using the darkness as a cover.
Zack didn't seem to notice her fluctuating blushing and idle rubs of her arm, and just kept squinting at her like she was an evil teenager sneaking off across his well-tended yard, while he really just couldn't see her.
"Right, anything? You don't really have to do anything in return for me. I kinda live off of these contracts, so I don't really have a price for them. But, yeah, sure, how did you want me to scare them off?"
(Ah don't worry about it.)
"Uhn.." Edith thought about his response. She really hadn't thought that Zack would accept this random contract, and so she didn't come up with something like that. She walked silently beside him for a bit, contemplating.
Zack glanced at her with his eyebrows raised after a few moments. "Any ideas? Any at all?" Her silence was annoying him slightly, making his eyebrows knit together with a slight frown on his face.

Edith bit her lip.
"I dunno. They feel you are oh so unattractive because you hate animals of any kind?" Edith laughed.
"Just make something up, and make it believable." She just wanted to be the only girl around him, and no one else.
(Lol okay.)
Zack frowned slightly. "But didn't you say you wanted me to kill them? So are you saying I should make them like… commit suicide or something? Maybe push them off a cliff while hiking? You've really got to make up your mind."
"W-wait, I said that?" Edith blushed in the darkness.
"I just want them away from you, not to become a murderer." She said, inching closer to him unconciously.
"How about… You know what, can't you just ignore them all, stay a good distance away from them, and if they push, reply coldy." Edith said.
"Yeah, I already do that," Zack replied bitterly. "I don't need a Contract for it to register." Zack squinted harder. Who in the world was talking to him? "And yeah, you did say that. Don't worry, I've killed a lot of people."
(Running out of ideas for how to get the girls the heck away from Zack-
assuming that you want blood and death,, idc though)
Edith nodded thoughtfully.
"Fine then. Make them accidents though, I really don't want to be anywhere near that." Edith shuddered.
(No, I think she just said oh lol kill them but that's how Zack took it.)
Zack grunted. "They deserve to be terminated off campus anyway. I'll do it. Without a Contract, too," Zack growled with a chuckle.
"Oh. Well then, uh… How was your day? I'm Edith, if you didn't know." Edith smiled at him expectantly.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
Zack flicked some of his long hair out of his eyes. "It was fine, thank you for asking. How was yours?"
Edith glanced up at the sky nervously before replying.
"It was, ok.. Uh," She changed the topic casually.
"It's getting pretty dark out. I should head back to the dorm before I get locked out. You too!" She nudged him playfully.
"So, I'll see you tommorrow?" She asked, her feet shuffling awkwardly.
Zack stuck his hands in his pockets. "I don't board with anyone, so I'm not really worried about it… Yeah, sure, see you. I have a soccer practice tomorrow, and a therapy session, so I'll probably see you sometime at night."
"Oh, uh.. I'm usually one of the girls that go watch your soccer practices." She said quickly.
"I've never went directly up to you before though, so I guess it is reasonable for you not to spot me." She laughed wearily. She brushed her hands off on her pants and promptly shoved them in her pockets.
"Alright. I'll see you tommorrow, then." She repeated, finally trudging off towards the direction of her dorm room. She glanced at the watch on her wrist. At this time, her room mates were most likely asleep already. With a startled yelp, she also noticed that it was already past midnight. The gates to the entrance were probably locked up tight already.
She did a 180.
"Zack, could you.. Do me another favor?" She said quietly. Somehow she had to scale the wall to the school entrance, and then get back into her quarters without alerting the night guards. They would definitely give her a scolding for staying up so late outside.
Zack started to trot at a brisk pace back to his dorm, only pausing when she stopped him. He raised his eyebrows, shifting his weight. He wasn't really sure how to think of this girl. She seemed very possesive but nervous and jumpy. It kind of confused him rather than alarmed him.
"Yeah, sure, what can I do for you?" He asked slowly, rolling his shoulders back.
"Uhm.. You said that you didn't need to worry about the dorm thing, so could you help me with mine?" She paused to catch her breath.
"I need someone to help me get over the gates." Edith was slightly embarrassed at her reasoning, feeling stupid for having to ask him such question. She brushed a miniscule flake of dust off of the red jacket she had put on for warmth.
Zack crossed his arms a little, raising his eyebrows. "Why don't you just come with me?" He questioned, leaning back on a heel.
"W-wait what?" Edith stuttered. The red on her jacket seemed to transfer itself onto her face. She worked hard to calm it, but the tomato red only turned into a deeper crimson.
"What do you mean by that?" She inquired. For a moment she thought she misheard the comment.
