Aukai's eyes flashed a startled acid green. "W-why…? Most everyone has taken my offer. They always just want to go on with their normal life without me marring it…."

"Marring it? Is that what you think it is?" Alex sat up in his chair, rolling closer to the bed and holding Aukai's hand.
"I think it's the coolest thing ever."
Aukai's eyes filled with tears. "R-really…? B-but I'm n-not supposed to exist…" She sniffled and wiped at her eyes. "Or be alive for that matter…" she whispered to herself.
group
Alex moved to sit on the bed next to Aukai.
"Don't ever say that. If you weren't supposed to exist, you wouldn't. End of story. You have a reason for being, even if we don't know what."
Aukai shook her head. "I'm to exist until the end of the world, caring for the oceans…. Even if I don't know how to beyond caring for the animals…."
group
"Well, there you go," Alex said matter-of-factly. He was still holding her hand.
Aukai slumped. "I was a human once too you know…. With a home, a family…." Her fingers threaded through his.
group
Alex gave her hand a light squeeze.
Aukai started to cry, curling up into herself. "I-I…" She sniffled and set her head on her knees, hiding her face. When she calmed down again, which was quickly, she wiped her eyes and straightened her dress. "Should I leave then?"
group
"You don't have to if you don't want to, but I'm not gonna keep you here." Alex rubbed his hair. He had forgotten completely about where he had been rushing to.
Aukai shook her head. "You seemed to be in a hurry. I should go…." She slumped when she remembered she was now confined to that tiny patch of ocean now…. Why?
group
"That doesn't matter right now," Alex stated. It really didn't, not now.
"What's wrong?" He asked when she slumped.
Aukai nibbled on her finger. "I was recently cursed, and now… That beach you dropped me off at? I'm only able to go into the piece of ocean up to the reef. I…. I'm stuck…"
group
Alex scooted closer to Aukai and put an arm around her.
"I'm sure we can figure out a way to fix this."
Aukai sighed. "It's just… Now I'm stranded from my home. I spent the night on the beach, but I don't think the mortals are going to appreciate it…." She leaned onto Alex. She glanced around and perked up. "You have an eel?" She tilted her head as if listening. "Hello then Marco."
group
Alex started for a moment, but this quickly passed. She was basically a goddess of water, why shouldn't she be able to talk to his moray eel? Alex brushed some of the sand off of her, gently.
Aukai rolled her eyes at the eel. She turned to Alex and stated, "He says he doesn't like the new food you've been giving him." She shrugs. "Sorry. He asked me to tell you." She yawned and her eyes turned a murky gray/green. She sighed. "I don't know what I'm going to do anymore… Now that I'm basically stuck on land…." Seaweed appeared in her hair and her hair bound itself up. Her sun dress turned into blue jeans and a blue sleeveless shirt with a sea turtle design on it.
group
"I- okay, I'll go back to the shrimp." Alex stood, holding his hand out to Aukai.
"I don't know either, but I'll tell you one thing; we're gonna figure this out together."
Aukai turned her swampy-green eyes to him. "Why do you want to help me?" She fiddled with her shirt hem and thought about all the waters she wouldn't be able to protect now…
group
"Well, you aren't the only one here who wants to protect the oceans." Alex tilted his head and smiled.
"And we'll do it together."
Aukai's eyes lit up. "Ok." She stood and brushed herself off. "Well, you seemed to be in a hurry to get somewheres, so when you're done with whatever it was, I'll be waiting at the beach. I need to make sure Lu Lu's okay."
group
Alex nodded.
"Till then." He walked to the door, hesitating. He turned back to look at Aukai.
"Be safe, okay? We don't know what's causing this, and…" he trailed off.
Aukai shrugged. "I'm a goddess. I'm immortal. Don't worry about me. You be safe. And get Marco his shrimp." She grinned and winked before disappearing in a salty sea breeze, leaving behind one more flower.
group
Alex spotted the flower. Quietly, he walked back to the bed and picked it up. He held it in his hand for a moment, then tucked it gently into the small pocket on his deck holder. He turned to Marco, rolling his eyes.
"You and I both know a variety in your diet is good for you." He laughed sweetly, leaving.
Aukai dove into the sea, turning back to her goddess form. She sighed with relief at the cool water. "Lu Lu!!"
Lu Lu swam up. "Aukai! I'm so happy you're back!!" the turtle was then confused then she said knowingly. "I smell a human male on you…~"
Aukai blushed and stammered, "Wh-what? W-well, yeah he k-kinda accidentally summoned me…"
Lu Lu just enjoyed the show of the Ocean goddess being absolutely flustered.

(Sure, just let me type out some drama real quick.)
Alex had pushed his bike to the gas station, where he had filled it up and bought a beef jerky stick. Now, he was at the park, volunteering with the younger children. As he watched them playing, someone put their hands over his eyes.
"Guess who?" A sweet feminine voice asked.
"Alley, I need to be watching the kids." Alex pushed Alley's hands off of her, turning around. A tall, long-haired blonde stood behind him.
"Oh? And you can see them better this way?"
They chatted for a while, laughing occasionally. Soon, Alley had to go. As she was leaving, she kissed Alex's cheek.
"See ya later, ya hunk!" Alley laughed walking away. Alex turned back to the children, herding them inside for snack time. He rubbed the place Alley had kissed him.
(Ooooooh…. I like this! Ok, you or me start?)
group
(I'll go)
Alex pulled into the parking lot of the beach. Swinging off, he stepped onto the sand. His jacket flapped in the breeze, and his hair gently waved.
Aukai perked when she felt someone step onto her beach. She smiled and jumped out of the water with her tail, did a flip and landed on her newly formed feet. She grinned at Alex. "Hey!"
