He used his other hand to grip her upper arm, then with a grunt, he jerked it into place. It seemed to be a very violent and imprecise action, but in truth it was a very controlled procedure. It made a loud snap! noise when it backed into its socket.

"You gotta move it immediately," Jack said, backing away from her and turning to the bandage drawer.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Ah FUCK!” Brooke sucked in air through her teeth, starting to move her shoulder as instructed, “God damn I never want to do that ever again.”

"There isn't much I can do for the ribs other than wrap you up in some Ace bandages," he said, pulling out the roll of cloth from the cabinet and closing the door. "Mind lifting your arms?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

She lifted her arms, wincing slightly at the lingering pain, “How many times have you had to do this? You’re like a professional medic at this point.”

"That's what I was in the military," he said, reaching both of his arms around her and beginning to unwind the bandage around her torso. "It's the reason why I survived losing my arm. I had to dress it with one hand, which was no easy task."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Yeah, I can imagine.” She sighed, watching the bandage go round and round, “I don’t think I could handle losing a limb, especially an arm.”

"Well, it's much easier to cope with when you get a replacement that's seven times stronger than your usual one," he said, wrapping the bandages lower and lower until his entire torso was covered with it. "Plus, it looks pretty damn cool. That ain't even the worst injury I suffered before."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“How is losing a limb not the worst injury you’ve ever suffered?” Brooke raised an eyebrow, looking up at Jack. Her head tilted slightly to the side, confusion and intrigue written on her face.

He walked around so he was in her field of vision, but kept his back to her. A jagged, purplish-red scar sliced through the hair on the back of his head and traveled all the way down his spine, ending just before his ass crack.

"I was involved with a head on collision with one of those damn aliens," he explained, scratching part of the skull despite how bad is appeared. "It damn near ripped me in half."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Stars…” Her mouth dropped and she covered it with her hand. Her eye scanned the scar, from top to bottom then back again, “I’m so sorry.”

Jack waved her off, walking behind her again and continuing to wrap up her torso. "Pssshhhh, it's fine. My spinal tube was ruptured, so I didn't feel a fucking thing. Got me a new spine for it, though, so that was cool."

@ElderGod-Carrots

She rolled her eyes with a small shake of her head, “Yeah, sure, cool. Because an injury of that significance is cool and not deadly. You could have died.”

He gave her a light jab on a tender spot on her back in retaliation to the comment. "I'm startin' to think I shoulda left you on that fuckin' ship."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Brooke hissed a little and frowned, thought I was more of a pout, “Fine fine, I’ll shut up… but I’m just saying…”

"You don't get to sit around and sulk after somethin' bad happens to you down here," he said, finishing the Ace bandages and taping the ends of them down. "You take it with a grain of salt and find any good you can get out of it."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Yeah, guess you’re right.” She mumbled, fiddling with a thread on her pants, “Thank you, for helping me.” She said quietly, looking over her shoulder at Jack, “I appreciate it.”

"Well, it's technically my job," he said with a shrug, offering her a wide smile. "I'm going to go get the rest of my clothing on, then have some breakfast. Did you eat before you decided to fall from the sky?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

She smiled back, “A couple of stale crackers but that’s about it.” She picked up her shirt and jacket, slipping the clothing on slowly and carefully.

"I'll make you somethin', too, then," he said, throwing up a piece sign as he walked out of the room and down the hall. "Don't eat my ice cream, or I'll shoot you!"

@ElderGod-Carrots

She held her good arm up in surrender and hurried along to catch up, “I won’t, cross my heart. And slow down! I have little legs.”

"I'm changing first, so unless you plan on seeing me naked, I doubt you want to!" he responded, walking into a room and closing the door behind him.

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Depends on if you’re got a nice ass or not.” Brooke replied, shrugging her good shoulder with a grin. She leaned against the wall next to the door, waiting patiently.

"The nicest ass you'll never see!" he called through the wall, stripping from his pants and picking out the white jumpsuit uniform. Jack quickly stepped into it and pulled it on, zipping up the front of it as he walked out of the room. "What do you want for breakfast?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Doubt that but aight,” She chuckled, “And honestly I’ll take anything at this point. I haven’t had a proper meal for ages.” She peeled herself off the wall as Jack came out the room.

"Which part do you doubt?" he asked, flipping the hood over his head as he walked towards the kitchen, "The fact that you'll never see it, or the fact that my ass is nice?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Both. Guess you’ll have to show me to prove it.” She shrugged causally, slipping a hand into her jean pocket.

"You'll just have to take my word for it, then," he said, grabbing a rag and turning on the tap water. "C'mere, real quick."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Truly a shame.” She sighed dramatically before doing as instructed and walking over to him.

After running the rag under the water for a second, he brought the cloth up to Brooke's forehead and began gently wipe the blood from her forehead.

"I guess that cut on your head wasn't deep enough for the scanner to really care," he said, tapping the cut lightly to try and soak up most of the blood.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Brooke scrunched one of her eyes up so the excess water didn’t drip into it, causing her nose to scrunch up, too, “Guess so.” She mumbled, tilting her head slightly to the side to make it easier on Jack.
