V ate in silence as well, not really knowing what to say to help convince Nath this was a good idea, or to try to get his mind off the doctors appointment. Eventually he finished off his meal and took the plate to the sink to wash.
one on one?
Nathaniel closed his eyes and tried to relax. He felt awful, so he figured that sleeping might help him feel a bit better. At the very least, he wouldn't be conscious to be uncomfortable.
After cleaning the dishes and wiping down the table, v gently scooped Nathaniel up in his arms and brought him to the bedroom to rest. He pressed a kiss to his head and found some clothes to change into after he showered
"Mm…" Nathaniel huddled up in the bed when he was set down, yawning and relaxing a bit more. He was already drowsy, and was fast asleep by the time V had finished showering.
V ceme out a few minutes after Nath had drifted off in a comfortable shirt and sweatpants. He settled beside Nathaniel dnd pulled the blankets over him, keeping the thicker ones at the edge for now in case he was warm enough with these. He read for a bit, needing to distract himself from the guilt he felt, that only last an hour before he too fell asleep
Nathaniel wasn't in bed in the morning when V woke up. He was huddled up beside the toilet on the floor, his face pale as he trembled violently. He was stuck somewhere between conscious and unconscious, and tears stung his eyes.
V awoke with a soft sigh, he reached over to pull Nath closer but found no one there. v sat up right and looked arpundeyes resting on the light coming from the bathroom. He quietly slipped out of bed and gently nudged the door open to find Nathaniel on the floor. He found a towel and knelt beside Nathaniel and gently pulling him into his arms, gently cleaning his face with the warm towel and trying to calm him down a bit
Nathaniel whimpered softly, limp and exhausted in V's arms. He quietly allowed V to hold onto him, closing his eyes as he trembled. "H-Hurts…" He whispered. "I c… I c-can't do this anymore… please…"
"I know it hurts my love." He whispered softly, pressing a kiss to the side of his head. "Jarvis's sister is coming. She going to help you, okay? Then the pains going to go away." He murmured softly, scooping Nathaniel a bit closer but keeping him close to the toilet in case he needed it.
Nathaniel hiccuped a bit and held tighter to V, shaking his head a bit. He didn't want to see her, and he'd said it enough times that his intention was clear, but he didn't have the energy to speak at the moment. His wings hung limply behind him on the cold floor, and his skin was pale and clammy.
He sighed softly "I know you don't want to see her, believe me you've made that clear. But I'd int know what to do anymore…" He murmured softly, voice cracking slightly as he lightly started to sway with Nathanil. "Please my love, you can hate for as long as you want, but at least see her this once, I'm begging you."
"I c-can't… do anything about it anyway…" He hiccuped weakly and curled up into a tight ball. "Y-You already called her and I can't stop her from coming because I'm weak…"
"you're not weak Nath." He said, straightening and scooping Nathaniel up into his arms as he got up. "Why can't you see that this will help Nath? Do you really think I'd put you in any danger?" V gently set him down on the couch and crouched beside him, brows creased in hurt.
"B-Because you don't think that doctors are dangerous the way I do…" Nathaniel whispered shakily, trembling in V's arms. "I-I don't… I don't trust her, and you can't change my mind…"
"your right, I don't think she's dangerous like you seem to think. We've been on Earth for a while now Nath. Things are different here than in heaven. Not everyone here wants to hurt you." He said. "I'm not going to try and change your mind my love. I'll let you decide for yourself what you think of Ariah after the meeting."
Nathaniel hiccuped and buried his face in V's chest. "It's a s-stupid fear and I get that, but that doesn't mean I'm not afraid, and… a-and it doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be afraid…"
"it's not a stupid fear Nath. And whether it is or isn't you're obligated to feel however you want to feel." He lightly stroked the bridge of Nathaniel's nose andheld him close. "I just hope this can be done you can feel.more comfortable around, even if she's a doctor. And if not, that's ok too." He settled on the couch and pressed a kiss to his head "want me to talk with her first before she talks with you?"
"I-I dunno, maybe…" Nathaniel kept his face hidden, wrapping his wings around himself as he trembled. "I don't… I don't want her to try anything… I-I don't trust her…" He mumbled weakly.
"she won't love. Probably just asking you questions, maybe a general check up to make sure it's nothing serious and then give you some medicine that will actually help." He explained, pressing his lips to Nathaniel's temple. "Want some breakfast now or after?"
"Not hungry…" Nathaniel mumbled softly, his heart pounding hard in his chest. "Don't want food… wanna stay here." He coughed a bit and huddled closer, his cheeks flushed with fever.
"you can stay as long as you'd like." V murmured, worried that Nath wouldn't eat but not wanting to push him, at least not until after the check up. He glanced up when a he heard a knock at the door, "come in!"
Jarvis and Urielle entered along with a young woman who looked like Jarvis, saved for the honey blonde curls and dark brown wings, more bird like than angel wings
Nathaniel looked up when he heard footsteps and froze upon seeing the woman. His wings puffed up and he tried to get away, only really succeeding on getting himself tangled up with V. He started panicking, his eyes wide with fear as he hyperventilated.
The angels looked on in concern as Nathaniel tried to distance himself from the woman. "We'll be outside, let us know when Nath is alright." Urielle said, gently guiding Jarvis and Ariah outside.
V nodded and hugged Nathaniel to him, holding the small angel against him as he tried to get him to calm down. "My love, please. She hasn't even done anything yet. Please just hear her out." He begged, brushing aside Nath's hair and trying to get him to calm his breathing
Nathaniel buried his face in V's chest, sobbing weakly. His wings were still puffed up, and he seemed terrified. "P-Please… I c… I c-can't do this… please…" He whispered, choking on his sobs and hiccuping. "Please, V…" He was obviously distressed; seeing the woman only made the fears feel more real to him. He couldn't trust her. He didn't want her anywhere near him.
"I know Nath, and I'm sorry. I really am Nath but she's here to help you. She's not like the other doctors I promise." He sighed softly and glanced around, "want me to bring you to the bedroom? Urielle can stay with you while me and Jarvis talk with Ariah in here. You don't have to talk to her if you're not ready." He suggested, slowly standing and adjusting his holds on Nath's curled up body.
Nathaniel whimpered shakily and held tighter to V, hesitantly nodding. Maybe he could calm down more quickly if he could curl up under the covers in bed. "I-I don't wanna… d-don't wanna talk to her…"
"alright, that's fine. She might ask you some questions though and might want to look you over." He said softly, taking Nath to their bedroom and setting him down in the bundles of blankets they had, allowing him to get comfortable.
Nathaniel huddled up under the blankets, still crying softly and shaking. He buried himself in his covers, almost as though he hoped that the doctor wouldn't see him if he could hide himself in the sheets.
V watched as V huddled into the blankets, "I'm gonna go talk to her, alright? I'll be back soon." He said softly, heading out if the bedroom and leaving the door open just a bit in case Nath wanted to hear what was going on
"Mm…" Nathaniel huddled up tighter and huffed indignantly, still crying softly. He tried to keep quiet, however, so that he could hear what V was saying to the doctor.
