Frozenstar slowly sat up as not to spook her, turning to look at it as well. Their pelts were brushing but neither one of them made any move to rectify it, "Yeah," he murmured, "That's home," his tail, still flicking, landed on top of hers and settled there unmoving
She inhaled and exhaled slowly, knowing that their pelts and tails were touching. she slowly layed down and spoke "do you ever sleep under the stars of starclan? see your ancestors while you dream? or do the rocks block your view?"
Frozenstar laid down next to her, hyperaware of every spot where their pelts brushed, "My den has a hole in the top so I can see the stars," he murmured, "But the rest of the dens don't." there was silence for a moment, "In a way it makes you feel more connected to StarClan," his tail, as if having a mind of its own, twined with hers, but Frozenstar made no attempt to pull away, "Sleeping together with each others pelts as the only source of warmth, you become more connected as a Clan, and you always know that StarClan is watching over you from the stars, and they'll be there in the morning,"
She nodded in agreement, momentarily glancing at their intertwined tails before looking back at Frozenstar "I can feel that you have a very strong connection to Starclan. That's good in a leader. You're caring and kind but stern when needed. You carry your clan on your back, tending to every need and want. A heart of diamonds, (assuming they know what diamonds are) clear yet hard and durable." She said matter of factley. "They chose correctly" tilting her head towards the night sky, watching the stars of their ancestors glint and shimmer
Frozenstar looked at the stars. He smiled, warmed by her praise. What was he doing? He was with a she-cat from another clan and… flirting. Yeah, that was what it was. Flirting. The tom looked down at his paws, nervous for the first time in a long time. He swallowed, swinging his massive head towards the she-cat and opening his mouth to say something, then closing it again. Then, “Perhaps, but sometimes the decisions I make are good, great even. But not necessarily viewed as right,” he said, his amber eyes soft and kind
She looked at him and smiled "Everyone is going to view your decisions differently. What matters is your best intentions and how you choose to carry them out." She played her head on her paws and stared at his amber eyes, intrigued to find that there was blues and grays mixed in.
Frozenstar took a breath. Oh great StarClan he was crazy, so so crazy. The tabby tom gently began to wash her, moving his tongue gently and kindly over her ears and head, down to her shoulders. It was small, even Clanmates shared tongues, but it was something that not even friends from different Clans did. A gesture. A question within an action.
She bristled slightly but didn't move, for fear she would strike him "what are you doing?" she asked quietly. She restrained a purr that was about to erupt from her throat. She didn't believe he would do to her what the other males did in her clan, so then why was her heart pounding?
Frozenstar stopped. Perhaps he had misread the signals. He cleared his throat, looking at her. His mannerisms had gone from confident and charming to shy yet kind, "Sorry," he said hurriedly, looking down at the rushing water below them, watching as the dark flow swirled and churned against the cold rock
She relaxed, surprisingly wishing he would continue. Shaking her head in confusion "whatever for? you were trying to be kind, it is I who should apologies, I'm just not used to sharing toungs with strangers or with anyone for the matter." She purred in delight, hoping she didn't offend him. "Again I'm sorry," she looked at him, certain that she'd angered him. She looked down at her paws not wanting to face him
Frozenstar looked over at her, a soft smile tugging at his muzzle. He leaned forward and softly nuzzled her cheek, "I understand," he murmured before continuing to share tongues once again, slowly so she could get used to it at her own pace.
She closed her eyes in content "is this normal thing for you? sneaking out in the dead of night and finding a random cat to share tongs with?" She smiled and started to lick his shoulder. "Won't your clan be missing you? they've had to notice you were gone by now." She looked up at him with concern "I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." She nuzzled his chest, not wanting him to leave but knowing that their time together was limited
Frozenstar pressed their foreheads together, a quiet purr rumbling in the back of his throat, "Only the beautiful ones," he joked. The tom shook his head and licked her cheek, "They won't worry," he promised, "I'm their leader," he shrugged, "One of the benefits," Frozenstar continued licking her, "What of your Clan?" he asked.
She smiled shyly "so almost everyone then" she glanced up at him playfully and smiled "My clan thinks I'm out hunting, they'll sen a search patrol soon, but not yet." She licked his shoulder and chest feeling him purr "So your a bit of a rouge then?" she smiled at him. She played down and sighed, "your lucky i haven't torn an ear off your pretty head" she laughed and licked her own paw to clean behind her ears
Frozenstar shook his head, "You're the first," he said truthfully. He chuckled at her comparison, "I don't know, would you consider me a rogue?" he nudged her so she rolled on her side, using a paw to stop her from rolling off and pulling her over to him gently. He leaned down and licked her face gently before nuzzling her, purring nonstop. There was a small part of him that was warning him that this was against the code, but it was soon buried.
She curled up next to his broad chest, reveling in his affection and the feeling of his rumbling chest as he purred. "Maybe just a bit, I mean being with another clan cat isn't held in the highest regards, but it isn't something that hasn't been done before." She licked his chin, a silent request for him to lower his head so she could reach his ears "you keep putting this loud, you'll wake Starclan" moon feather said with smile and a playful flick of her ears
Frozenstar obliged, ducking his head close to hers and nuzzling her cheek, "I'm sure they won't mind," he said, licking her muzzle a few times. He knew this would be hard, these stolen moments would be all they had, but he was willing to try.
"no, I think not" she saw the sun rising above the horizon "I've got to go, they'll be looking for me." She licked affectionately behind the ear and jumped in the river with grace "I'll be here tomorrow night" she said dragging herself onto the opposite bank. "goodbye Frozenstar, for now." She said quietly and bounded towards the forest
Frozenstar watched her go, a smile on his face. He watched until he could no longer see the she-cat, then turned and slid into the river as well, climbing out on the other side and shaking himself off, padding slowly back to camp.
"Frozenstar!"
The tabby tom looked up to see his deputy, Maplefrost, bounding towards him, "Maplefrost, is everything alright?" he asked, concerned.
Maplefrost nodded, slowing to a stop in front of him, "Yeah, we were just worried. You'd been gone a long time,"
They began to pad towards the largest rock formation where the camp was nestled, "Forgive me," Frozenstar ducked his massive head, "I went for a walk and got carried away with my own thoughts," he meowed, allowing Maplefrost to leap up the hill first before following himself, sliding into the cavern. The air chilled a couple of degrees and the only sounds that could be heard were the shifting of moss and breathing of sleeping cats. Maplefrost dipped her head, "Have a good sleep, Frozenstar," she meowed.
The tabby nodded, "Thank you," he padded to the opposite side of the cavern, sliding into another short tunnel that lead him to a wide open cave with a circle out of the roof, allowing the multicolored dawn light filtering through. Exhausted, yet warm with happiness, Frozenstar curled up in his nest and was quickly asleep
"I ask you again moonfeather, where. were. you?" Spottedstar had called her to her den for a meeting, wanting to know where she had gone the entire night. "I already told you, I was hunting along the river near the border. I accidentally fell in and a stone can patrol helped me out, giving me a stern warning not to fall in again or they would leave me to drown. I was uncareful and clumsy, I'll be more careful next time I promise." She meowed encouragingly at the she-cat "now may I please go see the kits?" Spottedstar had had another litter of kits the night Moonfeather had left. "Of course," spottedstar said with a smile following moonfeather out of the den to the mother's Den, immediately forgetting about her punishment
The next day, Frozenstar woke around sunrise. He padded out of the den and grabbed a piece of prey, settling down near the exit of camp to eat. He kept thinking of Moonfeather and when he was going to see her again.
Moonfeather had ended up sleeping with the pups the rest of the night, nudged awake by fluff balls of fur "wake up!!!" Shadowkit yelled in her ear "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh alright alright I'm awake! My stars shadowkit, you woke the whole clan up." He flicked her ears and pawed at the kit. "I know" the kit said with a smile "I'm going to the clan meeting tonight! My first one can you believe it?!" Moonfeather had completely forgotten about the clans meeting tonight, her heart kept at the thought of seeing Frozenstar again but was quickly stopped by another thought. He was a clan leader, from another clan. If she made any move towards him, they would be found out. Plus theyre encounter was probably a one time thing, he didn't actually care for her, he just wanted to pass the boring time. "I can't wait" she said to the kit as she walked out, heading for the forest before that had to leave

Frozenstar stood excitedly at the exit to camp, the tip of his tail twitching slightly, "Come on, StoneClan! The moon won't wait for long!" he called to the rest of the warriors, who were slowly padding to meet him. The moon was bright in the shy, illuminating the path to the oasis perfectly. Swiftly, the Clan crossed the open plains until they reached the crater. After a moment, Frozenstar signalled for them to enter, watching as his warriors flooded by him and down the sandy slope to rest on the bank of a glistening lake in the center. Frozenstar himself, however, hung back, waiting to spot Moonfeather so they could hopefully at least meet for a moment

Moonfeather and the rest of the warriors filed in silently from the east. Spotted star coming up next to her. "Looking for anyone?"the clan leader said with a smile. " No, no just looking around." Moonfeather tried to look anywhere but Frozenstar, she smelled him everywhere but couldn't pinpoint a specific spot as to where he was standing. Fine ally she looked down at her paws and waited for the meeting to begin
Frozenstar smelled the familiar scent and perked up, looking around. He spotted her and ducked into the brush, "Psst!" he hissed, "Moonfeather!"
Moonfeather head snapped up at the familiar voice. She spotted his eyes peering through the bushes. She trotted over, careful to not be seen by anyone and slipped under the bushes "what are you doing? You should be up there with the other clan leaders." She looked up worriedly at the rest of the clan cats around them "you need to go before someone finds us. I'm not worth your reputation, now go."
"They can wait for a minute," Frozenstar reassured her, nuzzling the she-cat, "I wanted to see you," he smiled and licked her cheek
she started to purr against her better judgment and leaned into the tom, savoring their limited time together "alight," she said between purrs "you've seen me, now go before we get caught." she licked his ear lovingly before she pulled away and walked to the center of the clearing
Frozenstar purred and watched her leave before sliding out himself and making his way to the lake where he slid in and swam to the island in the center, shaking out his pelt and leaping onto the lower branch of the tree and sitting down neatly. He called the meeting to order with a yowl and gave a quick speech about how StoneClan was thriving in the harsh leaf-bare, though they were obviously all smaller than they usually are, Frozenstar especially. Yes, he was still muscular, but he still refused to eat until all of his Clanmates did, so he usually didn't eat.
