Vixy started to sing the bridge of the song, lost in the music. The demo of Dynasty had gone down really well with her YouTube audience, so now she and her music producer Varsity were professionally recording it. Vixy was one of the most popular singers in the building, to anyone who had a lick of sense and knowledge of their surroundings.
One On One Because I'm Wide Awake And Lonely
Anarchy sighed, leaning against the wall and sliding down, listening to another artist singing as she slowly chewed her candy bar.
The music transitioned into the chorus after the bridge, and she gave it her all. As the song ended, she finished with a bravado. She blinked, and a tear fell down her cheek. This song made her emotional, as it was written about her ex.
Anarchy leaned her head back, smiling at the song. Absolutely heartbreaking. Like most of my favorite songs. Huh, wonder what that says about me?
"That was amazing!" Varsity yelled when Vixy came out of the booth.
"Thanks, Vars. I just need a minute," She said, then walked out of the small studio and into the hallway. She headed towards the vending machine, wanting a drink.
Anarchy looked up, before looking back down and playing with her hands. "Hey, uh, you were great." She said, a bit awkwardly.
She wiped her tears when she realised that there was someone else in the hallway. "Thanks," She replied as she got a drink from the machine. "I didn't know you were here."
"The others are understandably pissed at me, so I'm using our brake to my advantage." She said, smiling slightly.
"I was just studio recording my song, Dynasty," She sighed, taking a swig of her drink. "It's kinda based off my ex."
"Cool." She said, not really knowing how else to respond. "How's it coming?"
"I just need to re-do the drums, but other than that Varsity says it's fine." She sighed again. "The demo was really popular on my YouTube channel."
"Nice." She said, nodding.
"So…you said that your band was here. What song are you recording? Is it your own? A cover maybe?"
"Our bassist wrote it." She said, smiling. "It's called Damned, but I only really know the guitar for it."
Now Vixy was interested. "Ooh, sound cool. What's it about? I'd love to sit in on a session."
"I doubt they'd kill me if I brought you in, but I have no clue what the hell it's supposed to be about." She admitted. "They wouldn't tell me."
"Mind if I sit in on your recording session then? I could maybe help a little."
"That would be great!" She said, grinning. "God knows we need it. Just don't tell them I said that."
Vixy smiled. "Hey, I don't think I ever really got your name. I'm Roxanne Adler."
(btw shes more well known as roxanne than vixy)
She nodded. Holy fuck, it's her. "Anarchy. Anarchy Jett."
"Do you have a nickname, Anarchy?" She asked jokingly.
"My older sister used to call me Annie." She said, laughing slightly.
She smiled. "I think I'll stick to Anarchy. Sounds cooler."
"Thanks…" She said, a bit awkwardly. She was not used to compliments.
"Hey Vix!" Varsity said as she came out of the recording studio. "My brother called and I have to go. Come back tomorrow and we'll re-record the drums." She smiled and then ran down the hall.
"Well, I guess I'm free now."
"Think they might be chasing me down for our break to be over any minute now." She said, standing. "Shall we?"
She stood up herself. "We shall." She picked up her guitar case and drum sticks, which Varsity had placed outside before locking the studio door. No one could use it anyways, it was her reserved recording area.
She smiled, leading her to the room her band was in. "Hey guys!"
Vixy walked in behind, guitar case in hand. She looked around, recognising the area as the place she and her band used to practice in.
Anarchy waved at her band, stepping in the booth and picking up her guitar.
