By the look on his face, he seemed sad that she had to go, which made her even more resolved to leave. She was stupid, she knew she couldn't do this! She knew she would have to leave if she did get attached, and that would hurt even worse than this. But part of her knew it was too late; she was already looking at him, her guarded expression was coming down.
"Thank you so much, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done this to you," she babbled. Then she stood to leave, but couldn't bring herself to let go just yet. "Enjoy the rest of the storm," she mumbled.
