"About twenty," Eden responded absently, still distracted by her own thoughts. "Maybe thirty, but no more." She glanced at Kaz, trying to sum him up. It was crazy, how much he'd changed. But he hadn't really changed, had he? It was just the memory loss. Deep inside, wasn't he still the crazy jerk he'd always been? Wasn't he?
Curtis was keeping up with them, for more reasons than one. He didn't wanna get separated from them, sure; he didn't trust Eden as far as he could pick her up and throw her. On top of that, he wanted to eavesdrop. The whole situation seemed screwy to him, and he wasn't about to pretend like he wasn't suspicious. But, he did trust Kaz, despite the fact that they'd just met that day– so he tried not to be too paranoid.
But he couldn't help himself.
"That's a lot of scientists," he muttered.
