Kohaku picked her teeth clean with her nail (claw thing??) and got up. "I– Is there a shower or a bathroom I can use?"
"Of course," Naoki beckoned her to the doorway and out into the hall. "Just go upstairs and to the end of the corridor– you'll see it."
As she made her way up, she began to brush the ashes out of her fur. I need to get this stuff outta my fur….
Rigel sat in his chair, fidgeting slightly. He began testing his powers a little bit, levitating his metal and bending and flexing it. It felt like he had shoved his powers away for too long, like a muscle that hadn’t been used in a while.
Kohaku made her way into the bathroom and shut the door, locking it. The room was nice and large, with a deep jacuzzi-like bath tub with plenty of towels and washcloths, as well as incense. This is nice…. She tugged the ribbon out of the end of her braid, letting her hair loose. It frizzed all over, getting in her eyes. I’ve had my hair like this for too long…

(I dunno it’s a tad too slow… I dunno!!!? When I thought it was slow, I meant him trying to advance, you know, hugging and stuff, but if he has thoughts its fine I’m just unsure what to do…)
(Ummm… what if a really bad storm went through? And Kohaku could get a little nervous and go to Rigel for comfort……?)

Rigel was in the middle with testing him powers before the rain started to patter down. It wasn’t too long before they heard the heard the rumble of thunder from the graying sky.
(Heard the heard the… ahhghhg dude you’re killin me….)
Kohaku was still in the bathroom, minding her own business when the rain came down. Oh no… I better finish up fast….
Naoki was taking everyone’s plates when he heard the thunder. “That’s strange… we don’t usually get thunderstorms around here…. On a rare occassion will we get thundersnow, but otherwise….”
“Does that mean anything?” Youichi kept himself seated.
“It’s just not that common around here in the mountains…” He said, returning into the kitchen.
(Oof I was gonna have them go to sleep, but that’d be a weird time skip…)
The rain began coming down in sheets, thunder and lighting cracking in the sky. Rigel frowned a little bit at the sudden storm, standing from his chair to go look out the window. There was a small river of water forming in the middle of the camp already from so much rain. What the heck?
Kohaku finally got out of the shower, the sound of running water getting to her head. "No…" She muttered, redressing over her silky, clean fur. "Not again, not again…."
Naoki frowned. "It looks like this isn't gonna let up anytime soon… It seems like it's going to last all through today and tonight…"
“Hmph…” Rigel grumbled his response, narrowing his eyes. Where is Peter, in all of this? Hopefully he’s drowning somewhere… “At least out tracks will be gone,” He pointed out and managed a tiny smile.
"That is good…"
At that moment, Kohaku came scrabbling downstairs, her hair flying everywhere. She had her ribbon in hand, and she wasn't just about to spend another second by herself when that storm was rolling over. "I'm back," She announced, panting wildly.
She looks cute like that… Rigel nearly choked once he processed his own thought. He turned red, staring out the window in hopes no one would notice and saying, “It’s quite the storm out there, isn’t it?”
Kohaku shuttered. "It's a bad one… Yeah…" Dear lord I hate storms… The water… The flooding water… She shook herself to snap out of the nightmarish thought, sitting herself next to Daichi and handing him her ribbon to braid her hair.
Rigel left the window, finding himself sitting down next to Kohaku. What am I doing? Rigel ignored the feeling that sparked in his chest, bringing up a smile instead, “So I guess we’ll be here for a little bit longer than expected.”
"Well if that– storm's not gonna let up, then of course we'll be here until it lets up." In which this case, I doubt it will until tomorrow morning….
Daichi finished up with her hair and tied the ribbon tightly to keep it in place. "There you go. I made sure to do it a little more loosely this time…" He got up and went to the window to investigate the storm. "This one is quite bad… I've never seen worse…"
Kohaku swallowed hard.
Rigel looked at Kohaku, furrowing his brown and asking quietly, so only Kohaku could hear, “Hey, you okay?” He was worried, a little place in his heart going into mother hen mode.
Kohaku felt her throat go dry and her face pale, but she shook her head. "No… I'm fine… I'm perfectly fine…" She didn't want to admit the embarrassing fact that lightning storms gave her awful nightmares and on some occasions, even dark hallucinations. It's dumb, it's stupid and it's silly….
Rigel didn’t buy it. “Hey,” Rigel reached out, grabbed Kohaku’s hand and holding on tightly. “It’s alright…” He started doodling little circles on Kohaku’s hand comfortingly with his thumb.
Kokahu's gut began to churn wildly, and her breathing grew shallow. Her cheeks flushed as Rigel traced her black hand. "N– No," She stammered, asserting herself. "I said I was fine–"
She glanced past his head into the hallway, where a white, devilish smile and white beady eyes awaited to stare back.
She screamed, sweat streaming down her face. "Get it away from me!!!"
Rigel immediately had his arms wrapped protectively around Kohaku, his metal levitating in front of them to form a shield. He looked down the hallway, but couldn’t see anything. “Hey, hey, it’s okay, what happened?” He asked softly, holding her close to his chest defensively.
Everyone else seem to have disappeared, and things got blacker. "H-H-He was there… In the h-h-hallway…." She glanced over at the window, seeing the same thing right outside.
She yipped, tears bleeding from her eyes. "No!!" She wailed loudly. "Nooooo!!!" Kohaku had no choice but to burrow into Rigel's body. "I can't take this anymore!"
Rigel was immediately tense, mind jumping to conclusions. How’d Peter find us? He changed his shield into daggers, swirling around them with blades pointed out defensively. (I just got an idea……… could mamoru or someone else walk in from the hall?) There was only one thing on his mind, and that was protect Kohaku. He needed to protect her.
