“You’re right, I cannot imagine what it was like.” The tears were tricking down her stricken face. Again. “But I don’t have to. I’m not going to leave you, Cruz.”

He clasped both of her hands to press against his face. Cruz tried to speak, but.. He could only manage tears.

April mopped them up, again and again, clinging to Cruz like she was his anchor, his lifeline. “I love you. And this isn’t going to change that. Nothing is.”
