George swung himself up on the back of Bailey’s horse, settling behind him.
Bailey snapped the reigns, and they were off on their way through the snow.
George was silent, trying to untangle the impossible problem inside his head.

This close to Bailey, his scent was almost intoxicating.

Bailey…. felt the same way. Whether he meant in general or about him was impossible to say, but still… it put a dent in George’s belief that this love was a sin. How could he think that about Bailey?
Like, i left my fathers house over the summer to live w my mom cos he was mentally abusive– he kicked me once too. I still love the rest of that side of the family but since i left they only believe what my dad tells them. He says im a dirty whore and reckless… And my cousins had their birthdays and my gma is turning 60 and nobody bothered to tell me.. )

Two things registered in George’s mind.
First, that Bailey had admitted to loving him.
Second, that his past lover had died.
“I’m sorry…” he whispered. “I promise I won’t die.”
He sighed softly through his nose, leaving a cloud in the air. "Good…"
George leaned ever so slightly closer to the other man’s warmth. “Does that…. mean you love me?”
He was quiet for a long while, "I'd say so.."
George didn’t think it was possible for his heart to beat any harder than it was right then.
“I— oh.”
He peered over his shoulder at George, "That's okay, yeah?"
“Y-Yeah. Definitely. I’m just trying to sort out my emotions.”
"Take the time you need." He replied patiently.
“Thank you…” he murmured, laying his head against Bailey’s back.
He turned forward, at a relaxed trot.
George still couldn’t quite fathom the fact that Bailey was in love with him. And he was in love with Bailey.
Bailey began to whistle.
“What’re you whistling?” he asked tentatively, his legs dangerously close to Bailey’s.
