Jane looked at him worriedly. "Am I doing alright?" she asked quietly.

"You're doing more than alright," he reassured quietly.

Louis’s smile returned full force after that. His heart squeezed—Marius looked so soft and adorable, the golden sunlight outlining his face while he cuddled the animals—and he frowned down at the traitorous organ before his smile came back.

@KalamariCakes

"Come here, pet them with me," Marius laughed.

@blue_topaz

Tentatively, Louis crouched, reaching out to the nearest animal. "How do I…?"

She smiled softly. "Please tell me if I'm doing something – anything – wrong?"

"They like their ears scratched," Marius replied cordially.

Louis scratched behind the ear of one sheep, hoping he was doing it right. “Like this?”

@KalamariCakes

"Yeah," Marous laughed brightly. "Much more entertaining than a dead sheep, yeah?"

@blue_topaz

Louis quieted at that. “Yeah.”

@KalamariCakes

"That one is Jess. C'mon, let's go feed them,"

@blue_topaz

Louis nodded and stood, slipping his hands into his pockets. “With what?”

"Normally they just graze, but I'm feeling generous today. They really love rosemary, I buy some sometimes from town."

@blue_topaz

Louis nodded in response, biting the inside of his cheek. “And they just eat from your hand?”

@KalamariCakes

"Yep. You gotta keep your palm flat though, so they don't nip you by accident,"

Im back! Busy weekend OvO )

"Here," Marius sprang up, and walked in a bouncy gait toward the weathered barn. At some point it must've been a beautiful, vivid red.

That helped John to calm down some of his frayed nerves. "We have five more men to arrive.." He whispered.

Heyo
How’re you?)

Louis laughed and jogged after, a breeze blowing his hair back,

@KalamariCakes

Rly good! I got a new plant, named him Chad )

Louis could see how the weather had left it's mark on the towering barn—and Marius's sad inability to fix any of it. It seemed the only thing the farmer could do was hammer a nail, which explained the crowds of rusted nails struggling to cling one plank to its rotting neighbor. Once inside, Marius made a bee-line for the ladder, and climbed it to the second floor where he stored drying herbs and hay.

"Then I should get back to the kitchen to finish," she murmured, kissing him again lightly before heading to the kitchen.

"Love you.."

Nice 😊)

Louis chewed on his lower lip, a thoughtful expression onbid features as he looked around. “How old is this?”

@KalamariCakes

John sat down at the table, "It's very good to have all of you here. An absolute honor," he spoke with flashy smiles—Jane recognized this as his charming tactic. Bright smiles and candid words.
"Likewise, Mr. André!" Clinton chortled. The jovial general made the other men at the table chuckle lightheartedly. "And your wife, ah! Ever the jewel. And the cuisine is exquisite," he complimented her.
John flashed his wife a warm smile, peppered with excitement.

"Older than me," Marius answered candidly from the upper level. The level was simply a wide walkway framing the walls of the barn, and a fence to keep whomever walked ontop from falling down. It seemed a nice place to sit and dangle your feet, a nice place to hide away on a hot day.
Marius clambered down the ladder with a satchel-full of dry rosemary. "Why do you ask?"
